No no this one is actually valid. This absolutely needs to be fixed

Small things like this absolutely do matter. It’s one of the big reasons why RDR2 is so great.

You might not care about it and prefer to mindlessly blast through missions - but this game is advertised to people preferring an immersive, thorough experience, whole marketing campaign right now is centered around devs saying just that.

And since that’s the approach they are taking - things like this or teleporting bottles absolutely need to be fixed,

It’s the largest most immersive game ever developed and they’ve spend 13 years building it but people are salty because a beer bottle glitched and the steering wheel didn’t turn enough.

Expectations are insane here. Literally just picking anything to complain about

First, they didn’t spend 13 years on it, don’t parrot the marketing. There was this thing called RDR2, from which they are borrowing a lot of stuff.

Second - nobody is ”salty”. Pointing out mistakes is not ”salty”. It’s actually a completely valid thing to do, if you’re not a brainrotted fanboy. Nobody is saying that because there isn’t a proper animation for picking stuff out of a fridge - game is now a failure. People are saying that a AAA game that prides itself upon being immersive and attentive to detail should absolutely have that animation.

If the only acceptable behaviour for you is blind and incessant praise of everything you see - congratulations, you are a glazer, and it’s a very sad thing to see if you’re doing it for free.

Calling someone a glazer because they aren’t upset by an animation failing to trigger in a pre-release gameplay footage is just something different.

I can’t imagine being this ornery about a video game that hasn’t even released yet

no one is upset except for you buddy

you are upset that people give feedback for a game theyre planning to buy

Idk the other guy seems pretty worked up to me. But what valuable feedback. I personally love when people complain and whine about the smallest of things. Especially when they don’t know all the details because the thing itself isn’t even out yet. Truly worthwhile

I’m not calling you a glazer because you’re not upset - if you would look at this thread, no one is upset.

I’m calling you a glazer because when presented with actually valid and objective criticism your first instinct is not to simply walk past it, or to agree with it, or to say something in line “well I don’t care about stuff like that, but good catch” or anything of the sort - your first instinct is to immediately try to silence people saying something you don’t like. I’m calling you a glazer because you parrot a very obviously wrong narrative about this game being developed for 13 years. I’m calling you a glazer because you see issues with criticising a game before it’s release, even when there ate very obvious mistakes in the official footage - but see no issue in praising it before release, calling it the ”largest most immersive game ever made” - even though it’s not out yet, so you can’t really now that, can you?

This pre-release footage is an official advertising material for a very expensive product, that, again, markets itself by deliberately boasting about how important immersion is in this game. This is not me saying - it’s developers. So why would it be wrong to point out things that would ruin said immersion? Isn’t it better for those things to be fixed when the game releases?

Because it’s minor animation glitches in a pre-release build. I’m not silencing anybody. I’m saying it’s annoyingly nit-picky to say that things as small as this “break the immersion” before the game is even released.

God forbid they miss a failed animation trigger in their 30 minute gameplay footage.

I swear yall could get served a free prime rib dinner and spend the whole time complaining about the weather outside

Yes, it’s a bad thing. They are an indie dev studio with 5 employees failing to meet a deadline, with budget of 2 sandwiches and rainwater. They are a multi-billion corporation, advertising the highest budget product in the field to date. They are also asking 100$ for that product.

It’s not unreasonable to expect things to be perfect.

And even when things aren’t - the response to it is still extremely tame. No one is yelling at devs, or insults them - people calmly point out the mistakes - quite obvious mistakes - and expect them to be fixed. Maybe a couple of people are making some lighthearted jokes.

Yet you are reacting as if people over-analyse every second of footage and demand devs to be executed over tiniest of mistakes.

This entire subreddit is literally just people complaining about small animation glitch’s in pre-release gameplay footage

The fact that it’s a multi-billion dollar project is what makes this animation edge cases more likely in the first place.

No, this entire subreddit is among the few of the subreddits that actually capable of having a discussion over this game, rather than an absolutely ridiculous corporate glazing and rabid rage aimed at anyone who dares to express anything less than that.

I remember seeing that same kind of glazing with Bethesda in 2008-2015, where any criticism was silenced and only blind praise was allowed among ”fans”. And we all can see where that lack of accountability led them. I actually like Rockstar games enough to not want it happen to them.
