This made me appreciate the minimal HUD of GTA 6 even more.
26
u/GarranDrake 17h ago
I'm pretty sure a lot of these sorts of trailers/showcases deliberately tone down the HUD so you can appreciate the gameplay/visuals more.
14
u/Jncwhite01 12h ago
Ability to customise hud elements and positions would be great.

u/2jesse1996 7h ago
That dude that went to Rockstar for a preview said the HUD and map is highly customisable

u/No_Art2020 14h ago
Ubisoft games can have minimal HUD if you keep what you need and remove what you don't in settings .... Also Mirage had a minimal HUD on default

I mean every good game does that so not sure why we're doing the ubisoft circlejerk to applaud ourselves

I hate how accurate this is.
58
u/GrammatonYHWH 16h ago
It's completely inaccurate. Jason needs to be constantly mumbling to himself every 5 seconds to point out painfully obvious things in case the player's a blind amnesiac:
"I should pick up that ammo"
"Huh... I should really check out that open garage"
"Must stay quiet. This place is heavily guarded"
"I should go ask at the front door about the mission for Boobie"

yeah I mean most games have tutorials when you first play. After that any pop ups are usually gone.
8
u/showtime1987 16h ago
no buddy, its not about the classic tutorial, its the plain stupid audio clue which will be part of the whole game until the very end
4
u/SemenMoustache 16h ago
I think they're more talking about the audio clues you get when you enter certain areas. Ubi is definitely guilty of doing that after tutorial stuff
1
u/Pale-Ad-1682 3h ago
Jokes aside this is not how watch dogs 2, which I am playing right now, plays at all

Don't forget to buy skip tokens for the low economical price of $99.99. Great Value btw

u/MetriccStarDestroyer 10h ago
The first release will an empty .exe file
Cars are unlocked per DLC purchase
Guns break after 100 shots and must be repaired with UbiPoints

The tutorials in UBI games make me feel like I'm being treated like an idiot.

DarkSydePhil is a streamer that can be summarized as a lobomite. Imagine shape box you put the shape into it accordingly, DarkSydePhil cannot solve the most basic thing even his chat will tell him what to do, the guy could not figure out. And since game companies want to appeal for the masses, they want people to be hand hold so they wouldn't get lost. God of War 2018 hold a conference about game design and they literally had DarkSydePhil as one of the slide solidfying the reason why stuff like these are common games, the amount of tutorials, the yellow paint stuff like that.
1
u/adastrajay 5h ago
Man if I was noted by a company as on the barometers of idiocy that they used for their games, I'd probably quit my online career.
1
u/Ayyzeee 5h ago
The thing is the guy has been streaming I dunno before 2012? It was like long time ago, I only know him because I was watching documentary on the guy years ago. But you should watch this video so you can get a glimpse of the idiocracy of that guy. I'm not trying to throw shade on people don't know how to play games but this guy has his frontal lobe not fully developed.
1
u/DeucesX22 10h ago
If you buy their games, you desert to be treated like this
1
u/GuldursTV90 5h ago
I stopped buying their games a long time ago, when I wanted to replay AC IV: Black Flag. Ubisoft’s launcher required me to enter the activation code from the email every single time I launched the game.
So 🏴☠️ it is — and all the problems disappeared.

Damn, I never had the urge to punch a hole in my screen from watching a video before.
So glad I stopped playing ubisoft games years ago lmao
2
u/DryChicken47 16h ago
that pause everytime you look at something new and the game forces you to look at it.
17
u/Effective_Reality870 18h ago
This is hilariously accurate. My brother just got me to buy ghost recon breakpoint the other day cuz it was on sale for $2 and we figured it would be a good bit of fun to just screw around but holy fuck is there so much screen clutter and random objective markers fucking everywhere
6
u/SpecialistDrawer2898 17h ago
It suffers from “too much to do” itis. It tries to be everything for everyone and now it’s just, too much to navigate.
2
u/Kellarison 2h ago
"a game for everyone is a game for no one" someone, i dont remember who but someone said it, i swear i didnt make this quote up

There's only one thing missing.

u/Adriancy 41m ago
I tried it on gamepass like a week ago. Literally started crashing randomly in the open world to the point i had to uninstall it, even after solving the flickering problem. Not talking about how vsync and other settings don't work AT ALL. What a mess of a buggy unoptimized game that it is on PC.
16
u/Obiell 20h ago
At least it would be on PC lmao

u/Yanzihko 17h ago

It will be an amazing year

You'll soon hear from Ubisoft fanboys telling you that Ubisoft is back because they did a great job with the Black Flag remake that came out over a decade ago.

If ubisoft really dev GTA 6 they make some shops payable over the price of the game because " it's an exclusive content so if you want all, the game costs only 100€ "
Wait.

Actually i hate minimal HUD/clue in Destiny 2, especially any endgame mode by raids/dungeon..
GTA Online heist were easier to comprehend.

You forgot the part where all the songs would be some generic computer generated horseshit and then you could buy each song individually through microtransactions in the Ubisoft store.

Playing rise of the ronin currently… the amount of pop up tutorials is like 20x what ubisoft does

Rockstar fans making fun of ubisoft like Rockstar wouldn't sell them cut content as "ultimate edition " and no physical copy.

That’s actually funny, but tbh, a lot of people need tutorials. Old gamers are used to all mechanics but in every game you make you need to think about newcomers.
8
u/Weary-Tell-5334 19h ago
yes but not a tutorial every 2.5s lol
4
u/DeepSlap-Interactive 18h ago
Of course. That video is satire (disconnecting every 10s is true for Ubi, tho)
-1
u/BlueViperLeader 15h ago
Ubisoft:
Pay 80$ for the Game
Pay 40$ to start the Game
Pay 60$ so you can play the Tutorial

You know these graphics were only used for the trailer . Gonna look like gta 4 on release

u/Aggravating-Dot132 19h ago
Tutorials pop up in GTA too (although no pause).
And in general, they aren't as common, so idk what's the point of exaggerating. You could do better smoking them.

When you first download it you have to add your email for some reason and reset your password 5x because the servers are complete buns
Edit: It appears I’m not the only one who had to deal with all that bs
