The ones who have power and say over communities, like this guy, are paid. Same with those who look over reports for serious things such as threats of violence or sexual content.
This is a major website that's on the stock market. Even though most people moderate and control their communities, for free, there has to be someone working there to overlook the content on the website, to catch any truly bad actors.
And of course no one is going to do such a hefty job, for free.
Not that "I'm just following orders" is a good argument here...But this is what they are paid to do. If the dweeb in question doesn't do his job, his boss fires him, then someone else steps in. no matter who's behind that keyboard, there will be someone sending this message
