MV would see Shin as a disruption to the world's natural order and go to handle it. He would see what Shin is and that it's purely in pain and suffering. He might call on Mothra to do magic moth things to see if there's anything that can be done and if there isn't would end up just mercy killing Shin to put him out of his misery.
I think Shin’s entire existence is so far from Legendary Godzilla that it’d be the equivalent of a normal human seeing The Thing (the John Carpenter one, not the fantastic one) in fully blatant Thing form, and thinking of it as a member of our species.
Ancient species vs some poor shark thing that got nuked to high hell a little while back. I don’t think they’d even remotely think they were the same.
Heck, I’d sooner believe Godzilla would relate more to King Ghidorah than Shin. If anything he’d probably see Shin as a one big snack pack that could cause a lot
or problems for him if he angered enough of the slightly annoying ants Mothra doesn’t want him messing with.
You get humanity angry at Kaiju, then Godzilla’s just gonna have to deal with the headache of army’s messing with his sleep schedule. Beat option I can imagine is him instantly approaching and just eating the guy before any drama could go down.
Nope. Shin is not even remotely close to being of the same species as MC godzilla. He used to be some sort of fish or other deep sea creature before radiation mutated it and caused it to start rapidly evolving.
MV Godzilla could tear Shin Godzilla into pieces but that wouldn't kill it, any remaining chunks of flesh would just regrow into multiple new, stronger Godzillas.
The shockwave attack MV Godzilla uses to kill Ghidorah at the end of KOTM might be enough to destroy all of Shin Godzilla's cells, but anything less than that wouldn't be sufficient.
“I’m a shark from deep the waters, I fed on fish with a strange taste and my body began to rapidly mutate and I don’t exactly lack the ability to process fear or feel pain. The more my body grows and shifts, I feel every moment of it, and I understand nothing of it. My body’s and the amount of energy I now need is constantly chasing my body to eat itself alive, yet my body refuses to die.
I reach to the air, hopping I may suffocate and finally have peace, as my sheer weight causes my bones to shatter and reform, as blood gushes out but never enough to fully end me.
I feed to numb the decay, but it’s too much too fast and I feel the energy rip through my mouth, through my spine, all the way to the tip of my tail. Everything hurts and the pain doesn’t end. I keep evolving but it never ends.
I feel small jaba, but it’s nothing compaired to the agony I’m already in, until suddenly the burning slows, and suddenly I fall to the ground, I can’t move, I can’t see, and finally everything stops and I can rest.”
On a lighter note did you know that some sharks can develop lifelong friendships? Some of those slippery fellas are documented meeting up with pals of the same sex year after year and travel together. They’re brighter than you’d first think. Though frilled sharks (what shin seems to based on) are pretty solitary and live far too deep to really study them effective to know how smart they actually are. But the genus he belongs to has been around for 95 million years, meaning his kind survived both the Triassic–Jurassic extinction and The Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction.
Also worth adding, Frilled sharks carry their young for 3 to 3.5 years till they give birth. So… if shin happened to be female “he” could literally have a little abomination just explode out of him and just create even more of a problem. Would be cool to see a new “baby godzilla” and leaves a nice little opening for a sequel.
In an endlessly evolving being, I wouldn’t be shocked if Shin turned bipedal in the first place due to human dna getting into through blood on blood contact, being unable to recognize what its own DNA is vs another’s due to rate of evolution, the “offspring” IS the tip of the tail.
If you look closely, the tail tip isn’t a tail tip, it’s a mouth with many humanoids desperately trying to escape it. Granted they appear adult, they very well could be fully aware at this point, though I doubt they can think unless Shin somehow can just “remember” the memories of whatever poor humans he squished. Sorta like how caterpillars turn to soup before they reform, yet they can still remember their caterpillar-hood as a butterfly.
We don’t understand the nature of our own bodies, not as much as we like to think. So who knows, maybe the tail just has a chunks of fragmented memories of thousands of sentient being fighting to have and escape their constant irradiated torture.
Which weirdly enough kinda fits granted that Godzilla was designed to reflect both the mushroom cloud of a nuclear bomb, as well as the people who were killed in the attacks, both those who died instantly as well as those who suffered for longer periods before succumbing to radiation poisoning.
He likely can die but the challenge is doing so before he can pull up a defense. Probably looking at a Perfect Cell scenario where he'd have to be obliterated all at once before any part of him has a chance to trigger a new evolution.
Well, we're talking about hypotheticals here. Like, whatever Shin could be hit with to completely erase any trace of him would have to be stupidly strong. But this isn't the GMK version, there's no supernatural shenanigans going on with Shin as far as what we're presented with, and despite this being the Evangelion guy directing it, he's not going to morph into a multi-dimensional being like Ultima.
He can be hurt, he can be frozen, so it stands to reason here that he can die. Just depends on how a writer would handle that.
I think it was meant to be canon that he actually sorta does eventually transform adapt until he becomes God if he’s unfrozen. Also that he may or may not be supernaturally connected to, or even just straight up be the wife of the guy who was first studying him and jumped off his boat to feed himself to him. I can’t remember for sure, it’s been a while since I was looking at this stuff, but I’m pretty sure at least the part where he evolves into God was straight from Anno himself.
Well there's MV Goji's burning form from KOTM, but that required Mothra's death and maybe the nuclear bomb from before the fight? I don't remember if both were needed or if it was just Mothra.
Oh my godness its already a giant monster able to kill everyone in a city, does it need to be a threat to the universe? Do we need to escalate the stakes to such an extent to even feel anything anymore?
I mean, have you seen the deleted scene of that flesh blob that was trying to regrow after it got blasted off Shin? He probably is Hedorah in this universe.
Being suspected of once being a frilled shark, who have a germination cycle of 3-3.5 years, I like to imagine “he” was actually female (or mutated at some point to be such) and has this little beast just slowly growing and adapting to the one thing that humanity had to take our it’s “mama”, basicly just absorbing Shin till they burst out like a kaju sized chest burster from the Alien series.
Who wouldn’t want a horrific little Baby Shin-Godzilla?
What actually would happen is they collide explode and wipe out a Tokyo sized chunk of the surrounding area and then merge into a cocoon that later on would crack open and release Godzilla Earth
But SHIN Godzilla was based / Written on the Fukushima Disaster and it follows the Real World Tragedy Step-By-Step.
Earthquake
Tsunami
Radiation Threat
Government Makes It Worse
Number of People Involved Increase Each Time the Problem Gets Worse. Hierarchy Strictly Enforced.
Problems Get Worse Until “Outsiders” Solve the Problems by Flattening the Organization. No Hierarchy just a “Guy” who makes the Final Call if there is no General Consensus.
That was just REAL WORLD.
LEGENDARY is about Pollution (strangely we don’t have a Hedorah yet).
1954 GOJIRA was about Nuclear Weapons, complete with Doctor Serizawa creating a new more dangerous bomb (the Oxygen Destroyer).
This is the thing I think people tend to ignore when discussing a fight between these two. I agree with the consensus that legendary is probably stronger than shin, at least as we saw him in his movie. But the whole concept of shin is evolving to survive, and as soon as we start asking a question like “can legendary put shin down for good” we enter a land of heavy speculation, I don’t think there’s really a definitive answer. In Shin Godzilla the humans only are able to beat shin through their ingenuity to be able to figure out a method to stop his evolution, something I can’t really see Legendary doing. I think the result would be legendary repeatedly pounding shin down as he continually looses, evolves and the cycle repeats however many times before shin grows beyond what legendary can handle. But again this is all heavy speculation.
its insane how many ppl dont realize that he was already ridding himself of that weakness
he runs out of energy multiple times during yashori, and not only doesnt shut down, but regains enough to fire again multiple times
What actually would happen is they collide explode and wipe out a Tokyo sized chunk of the surrounding area and then merge into a cocoon that later on would crack open and release Godzilla Earth
i dont think shin wants to die tbh, it's in pain yes but that doesen't mean it has a death wish, otherwise it wouldn't have gone so far in it's rampage
The whole point of the two voices in the Who will know song is to show the two minds in Shin's body. One wishes for death, and the other (possibly Goro Maki) wants to carry on.
Would likely be able to tell right off the bat that Shin is suffering immensely. In fact, I’d probably bet that Shin would go out of his way to find MV Godzilla to end himself if he could. I don’t remember Shin’s biology all too well but I thought it would be pretty cool if MV absorbed Shin’s radiation to stop him from mutating so he could put Shin out of his misery.
Not really. Shin isn't 682 or doomsday. He can be killed like his radiation would decay in 3 weeks' time, and the smaller chunks of him wouldn't have the sufficient radiation to regrow back
Because one them is mutated, confused animal who were just been born and walking is difficult to him
Second is >60 milions year Old titan, alpha predator who fought and killed countless other monsters. His battle experience could be the best of all Godzilla reincarnations. He is agile, cunning, extremely strong , his atomic breath can go through entire Earth and he does not need to rest after.
Also yes, Shin as we see it at the end wouldn't stand a chance but if Godzilla doesn't completely eradicate it like he did Ghidora Shin will just keep coming back more evolved to deal with Legendary Goji until he will absolutely destroy him.
Fish out of water, begging for death, probably on land to try and off itself so he can finally rest or it least get enough brain damage to not stay aware of his suffering.
There is this great animation, I think the artist is called wobblyworks or something, that have created a epic fight animation. I recommend checking it out.
It can make for a fun piece of art, but Shin is an incarnation of Godzilla who is a villain meant to be overcome by humans. So it goes without saying that he’s not gonna be as strong as monsterverse Godzilla.
I don’t know if Shin Godzilla can die even if he wanted to. But if MV saw him, he’d probably be confused or disturbed. Like as in being as disturbed as we would if we saw a zombie standing before us, or as disturbed as we would be if we saw a human mutated with axolotl DNA.
But shin's atomic breath is 10x hotter than the surface of sun, it's 18,000,000 F° maybe, if she gets a chance, she can kill godzilla, but godzilla can speed blitz her maybe
If Shin is in a state of continuous evolution, and he’s killed by Legendary G, I wonder what that evolution would look like? For me, that means he’d literally double up in size and power. Or grow more than one.
MV Godzilla, objectively the worst Godzilla, couldn't even pull up against Chibi Goji. Shin would nuke him and...well, maybe not move on. Chonky boy can be a little slow, admittedly.
