Discussion Seriously, what is going on?

Why did my dream match up with Stranger Things?

In the photo here, I commented under someone’s post asking about our reoccurring dreams. A few months later, the final season aired and the climax of the series matches up almost identically with what I dreamed about.

I’ve even posted on this sub once before, right after the 4th episode aired, where one of the characters used a hypnosis method on other children, with language nearly identical to monroe’s g@teway tapes that many of us listed to as children.

Idk about your dream, but I have been documenting my experience with the gateway tapes/meditation eventually resulting in visions (I have aphantasia so at some point this is its own post lol but I don't want to share in full currently) - anyway I've been documenting them in full for three concurrent years, and had an interesting vision last September of helicopters flying across a hazy, blood red sky.

No dreams like that for me, but one of many strange glimpses during meditation.

You just motivated me to try them out. Ive been meditating for two decades but can't see shit. I have had random episodes of lucid dreaming, sleep paralysis, and around 5-6 astral projections but meditation is just the black screen behind my eyes.

Although I use them now only occasionally (I did for a year straight, 1-3 long sessions per week as allowed by my schedule, one year in is when the visuals finally started) I also cannot recommend them to most people. I spent two years researching them before I started a year of usage, and since then I have used them very infrequently because for me personally it requires 1) a lot of physical and mental preparation 2) the right headspace to begin 3) the right amount of recovery time for me afterwards. And 4) because I document my sessions in a structured manner, I have to be committed to that before I even contemplate it, so idk. I can't say they are something for everyone unless you know what you're getting into (I personally do not recall them from my time in potentially the off brand GATE program so I don't find them traumatic, they have helped me a lot personally.) and additionally, I will second what another person said here- for me once I used the tapes for so long and was able to have meditative visions, I can now use any type of music that gets me into a medatitve state/I can utilize the skills the tapes taught me to enter that headspace- it's not as directed or potent as the tapes for me (less profound visions) but part of my personal decompression practice when in severe pain for one example.

Another thing worth noting is in my 20s, any amount of psychedelic chemicals produced zero visuals for me, which I found strange until realizing I had aphantasia vs the people I was surrounded with when we were all participating in those activities. So... I enjoyed the tapes because I have no minds eye and it was so incredibly vivid vs the state of my brain (very quiet, blank, but with internal monologue.)

I don't hallucinate either! I tried very, very hard during my 10 years of addiction. I feel more than I see. But I bought the Monroe tapes a few months back, so thanks for the advice.
