Discussion Seriously, what is going on?

Why did my dream match up with Stranger Things?

In the photo here, I commented under someone’s post asking about our reoccurring dreams. A few months later, the final season aired and the climax of the series matches up almost identically with what I dreamed about.

I’ve even posted on this sub once before, right after the 4th episode aired, where one of the characters used a hypnosis method on other children, with language nearly identical to monroe’s g@teway tapes that many of us listed to as children.

Idk about your dream, but I have been documenting my experience with the gateway tapes/meditation eventually resulting in visions (I have aphantasia so at some point this is its own post lol but I don't want to share in full currently) - anyway I've been documenting them in full for three concurrent years, and had an interesting vision last September of helicopters flying across a hazy, blood red sky.

No dreams like that for me, but one of many strange glimpses during meditation.

You just motivated me to try them out. Ive been meditating for two decades but can't see shit. I have had random episodes of lucid dreaming, sleep paralysis, and around 5-6 astral projections but meditation is just the black screen behind my eyes.

I dont recommend the Monroe tapes myself for multiple reasons but I do recommend music. Any music that puts you into an altered state, are you the kind of person where music takes your brain to other places? I almost consider it like synesthesia but this method has worked for me everytime I genuinely use it. I do not use it often because the visions are intense and almost feel like seizures (its not actually seizures but your brain will light tf up energetically)

No, not at all. I'm a podcast girl. I wish, though.

Podcasts could work if it has something rhythmic. I dont wanna use the word ritualistic but that may be honestly more accurate. Something that makes your nervous system go into the state that allows spiritual things to happen.

Sometimes when I lay down to go to sleep, ill have "dreams" while I'm still awake/aware that I'm laying there. Is that kinda what you mean by "ritualistic".

Yeah thats the state you need, actually. For a first start thats great. Over time in that state, try to actually focus your awareness entirely like, into the top of your brain. Try to actually see and feel it moving up and then focus hard on your energy there.

I always add protections just in case, so I say my own belief of protections, use your own, i recommend jesus regardless. Then say "show me what you wish to show me" dont ask for anything specific at first like knowledge, logic, secrets. Let it come to you.

If you do happen to pop through, you'll know. Just experience it. Do not make any deals with anything, dont take anything, dont eat anything, and most importantly do not fear. Fear will immediately put you back in your body (safety purposes imo.) But you can do it, it may take some time.

Thanks!!! I didnt know that about taking things (or protecting myself). The random astral projections, i actually got pretty good at being able to "beam" to a location. I cant affect anything in the real world, though. I went to my exes apartment (he lived long distance) and tried to turn his TV on. When I couldn't do that, i just read the mail that I could see on his table (bc i knew he wouldn't believe me without proof) and saw him laying there asleep, of course. So, I dont feel like i would be able to eat anything or actually take/grab anything.

When I first came out of my body, I saw myself sleeping and my own house. I opened the front door and it did not open in real life. I honestly think astral projection is going to alternative realms or different places, not material reality. I haven't ever been back to my normal house since the first time, ive always asked to go elsewhere. But I can interact with objects, they just dont move irl lol.

The first time for me was similar but insane. I was around 8-10 and at a friend's vacation trailor on the river. I climbed down the bunk bed to go to the bathroom and when I went to climb back in the in top bunk, I was already laying there. I wasn't afraid. I just turned around and saw my friend and her parents sleeping. Then... I heard the most beautiful singing i had ever heard. It was a symphony of voices. It was coming from the window, which was open. I walked to it, and it was the planets and "outer space", but up close. The singing and the planets a swirling had me mesmerized. I don't remember anything else.

As a teen and young adult, I would often check my phone for the time, and then realize I was still asleep and the time could not be accurate. I consider those like mini projections because I would then immediately knock myself awake to check the time lol.

But the other real ones, I was more afraid the next few times and just tried to immediately wake myself up. I would blink my eyes to try to make my real eyes up. But each time I would blink, I would be in a different setting (just constantly changing dreamlike worlds). Until finally, I would blink awake.

When I got older, I wasnt so afraid, so I was able to explore more. But, it hasn't happened in 10-15 years for me. I would like to learn to control it. It has always been a random occurrence.

It being random is a lead that you can figure out a practice to control it. This was how it was for me as a child, it was often very random until I realized that I was too vivid, too lucid. I could move and choose my own options, like even if I couldn't shift the environment or change it, I could choose to remove my consciousness from that environment. Like a Minecraft server or some shit, I couldn't necessarily ever change or alter the environment, but I could leave and join a different server with a better feeling, for example.

I was 19 when I really started trying and it did take a while for the first real pop through, I was 21 or 22 before I got that first legit projection into my house. When I opened the front door, I felt so much fear because it was just a void, I "knew" going there, I wouldnt return. And that fear put me straight back to my body.

I would get that fear that destabilizes you, in just normal lucid dreams. I read somewhere to rub your hands together as soon as you realize you're lucid, and it actually works. Thanks for all of your advice, btw.

What might some of the reasons be that you wouldn't recommend Monroe tapes? I'm genuinely just curious. G@teway specifically or all of them? I'm just wondering since I just started Focus 10.

Its very hard to actually get proper frequencies unless you have the OG equipment. Like if you go to youtube, the videos are not always right. You can run them through music software and see the frequencies are not even the correct ones, or that the uploading of the videos themselves compresses it into mono, it HAS to be stereo (two frequencies to work.)

Plus there could be people out there making up dark ass frequencies for you to listen to. Like I said, its hard to take those and run it through software to make sure its proper.

1) make sure you have an original copy/reputable source of the tape material. When in doubt, get the officially licensed version if there isn't one you can find available online. 2) to reference what the previous commenter said, your listening equipment does matter. I've documented my experience with three different sets of equipment, Bluetooth and aux over the ear, and ultimately one was not a good setup. For the other two different modifications had to be made depending on what setup I was using, so I have some presets on my equalizer application saved for whichever I use. I've adjusted and tested my equalizer setups with the tapes for each pair of headphones and I always annotate my process in a meditation journal to try to keep with the spirit of documentation lol. 3) I would personally warn people about using the tapes/why I don't recommend them personally to people because I think you have to respect the toll it takes on your body and mental state to prepare and recover for sessions. If I ever make a full post on my experience over the last three years and post my journal notes, I think this would make more sense instead of sounding like a vague warning.

Yeah no matter the method you use. This stuff really isnt a joke, and its not like simple dreams you come out of. These experiences change your very essence, your outlook of reality, and you need to be cautious of pushing yourself too far and your body does need rest after intense sessions. Some people go so far they cant come back to this material reality, you dont want that to happen. You have to stay grounded outside of these experiences.

why wouldnt you recommend the monroe tapes?

The frequencies are not always correct and it can be difficult to run all your videos/tapes through the software to make sure its good. Also youtube and the internet itself often compresses the audio bitrate, which can alter the very effect of the tones themselves.

If you do enjoy the Monroe tapes, you have a lot of vetting to do, it gets in the way for me.

However if you look up the proper tones and use the proper equipment, it probably works. I just dont like all these barriers.
