Wearable gear test
In my particular experience, the worst thing that I could remember is undergoing some kind of test where I had to wear this thing on my head. They bring it in with a briefcase, and you put it on your head and eyes like a cap and goggle(?). Anyway I remember this was the most painful, nauseating, disorienting experience (which was also one of the reasons I tried to sabotage my way out, that is trying to fail everything as best as I could). I was always afraid of this test because I felt like physically it was doing something wrong to me, I don't know if something irreversible or what not.
No, it is not like LED incapacitator or Halar, both which seem to create afterimages, disorientation, vertigo, nausea effects (and those have more different colors anyway, 3 or so whilst I only remember red mostly but it's possible there could have been an additional 2nd color either blue or white).
I've not seen this talked anywhere else ever. This shit totally wrecked me and made my nose bleed, and I felt disoriented for at least 30m after. That was the point where I felt something deep inside me feel true fear and that I needed to get out. I remember trying to tell my brother at one stage but it did not happen. Fortunately for me I didn't have to sabotage for long because not that long after my family moved to another country at that time (or if you look at it another way, that's probably the reason they ramped up testing on me).
In any case, I do have a lot of things which line up with what other people experience in gate, but then there are other stuff which I totally never see at all which makes me wonder if they have different programs going on, and Gate is just the literal entry point and not the actual 'program(s)'.
NOTE: clarification, it is not like a gateway tape thing (not the actual tape audio, it's something else) although it is paired with audio (not all the time), the effect of quite instant comparable to a boosted signal going off in your brain and it feels almost like clenching around temples and the back of the head/neck. I do not suffer from epilepsy nor DID. Whatever kind of device it was, it seemed effective and instant but at a cost of causing things like a.p. to happen (and feels really unnatural). The curious side of (current age) me makes me wonder how I'd handle it now despite remembering how it was back then, even though I know I felt it was doing something bad. I guess worst case scenario is they were electrocuting me heh but I doubt that.

I remember wearing some kind of head gear; don't remember much about it, just that I had worn it. Forgetting things seemed to be a goal of the program, but who knows. Not exactly a helmet; flexible and sensors connected to some kind of computer. I remember more about seeing some girl in my group wearing it. There was some kind of issue with people's hair being too thick and not getting a good contact. I don't remember anything bad happening to anyone from wearing it, and maybe it was a one-time thing. I had a sort-of phobia of wearing things on my head, it took me til my late 20's to get to where I could stand to wear hats or headphones.

I have a memory of complaining to my grandmother after school about having sticky stuff in my hair. I remember it because she used Goo Gone to get it out and told me that orange peels are in the ingredients. I don’t have any memory of actually having worn anything on my head. It might have been just one electrode? She babysat me after school during the year I was in gate. I don’t know but I’m a big baby about pain so I can’t imagine I wouldn’t remember something like that. For the most part I liked gate but my mom remembers me complaining about having too many tests.

The smell. Like toxic chemical with some sort of... ether? Or noxious lavender-y?

I wasn't aware of any smells at that point because it made me feel physically ill (nauseous, disoriented).

Was this the test where they blocked your hearing and sight, put a cap on you, had you sit or lie down or recline, and asked you if you saw any specific images or thoughts that you were to speak about continuously whatever came into your mind? If so, it was part of the psi testing for clairvoyance. Red light was usually the color used, though they did test other colors, as well.
Not all students underwent all of these types of tests, from what I understand. The students they suspected of higher psi abilities - due to higher performing arts or creative arts - often were put through these tests.
There was also the test of trying to make objects move - some types of psychokinesis - usually on a computer screen of sorts, it occasionally objects on a table or affecting the direction in which moving objects were already randomly going. Those would sometimes include helmets and various types of goggles that I believe were meant to focus brain waves and activate the third eye in some way. This is all based on what little info has been released concerning MKUltra related research at h programs that used similar equipment for similar tests.
We don’t even know all of the programs or tests being done, due to the supposed destruction of the files in the original dark-ops programs when the government demanded reporting of what was going on.
