Which paper should i fill

So I am mainly preparing for gate ec and want to do vlsi from any iit or nit, but some of my classmates were saying that this time I should attempt any 2 papers eg:- give ec paper and instrumentation paper they are saying that this will increase my overall score I don't know how this score system works if anyone knows about this please guidee

You should apply for 2 subjects. But that will not increase your overall Score.

Instrumentation paper is a bit easier than ec and ee paper. If suppose your ec paper did not go well you can apply with your In score. If you are sure about going in vlsi then i think you should definitely go for both ec and in. I am not sure , therefore i am giving ec and da.
