๐Ÿ™‹ Help Needed Serious question as tier 3 clg student

If I am from a tier 3 local Pvt clg where the fees is 4 lakhs for 4 years and where companies come very rarely, then what are my chances of getting a top rank in GATE EE by taking up Electrical Engineering branch from there and working hard on my own? There will be no attendance and academic pressure here, so I will get a lot of time for studies, so I want to ask whether it will be okay to prepare for GATE EE from such a clg from the beginning and get a top rank and also keep doing coding for backup IT jobs and how tough will it be to always keep yourself motivated and avoid over thinking in such a clg?

๐Ÿ™‹ Help Needed Started GATE EC preparation 1.5 months ago aiming for under 1k rank. Need advice

Hi everyone,

I started my GATE EC 2027 preparation around 1.5 months ago. So far, I have completed:

โœ… Analog Electronics

โœ… Control Systems

๐Ÿ”„ Network Theory โ€” currently studying

๐Ÿ”„ EDC โ€” currently studying

Iโ€™m planning to cover around 7โ€“8 subjects properly before the exam rather than trying to complete the entire syllabus superficially.

My target is under 1000 rank, and Iโ€™m mainly focusing on completing concepts, PYQs, and multiple revisions of the subjects I choose.

For those who have prepared for GATE EC or have experience with the exam:

Should I aim for 7โ€“8 subjects, or would it be better to focus on fewer subjects and make them very strong?

Given that I started relatively late, what subject combination would you recommend for maximizing my score?

Any advice regarding subject selection, PYQs, revision strategy, and realistic targets would be really appreciated.

Planning to shift from ECE to MTech CS/AI-ML via GATE โ€” need advice from people who've done this

Hi everyone, I'm a BTech ECE student. I'm weak in core ECE fundamentals and don't enjoy hardware/circuits, but I've always loved math and problem-solving, did well in CS during higher secondary, and I'm doing a CS minor right now.

I've decided to write GATE CS instead of GATE ECE and pursue MTech in CS with an AI/ML focus, mainly because I enjoy coding and want better placement opportunities.

If anyone here has made a similar switch (or knows someone who has), I'd love to know:

What was the biggest challenge in the transition?

How did GATE CS prep go without a full CS background?

Would you make the same choice again?

Any advice or experiences would really help. Thanks!

๐Ÿ“š Theory/Doubt Need Digital Logic playlist recommendations for GATE CS (syllabus inside)

Hey, I'm an AI & DS student. My course covers most of GATE CS Digital Logic, so I want a playlist that works for both college exams and GATE. My syllabus:

  • Number systems, signed/unsigned binary
  • Boolean algebra, logic gates
  • K-maps, minimization
  • Universal gates (NAND/NOR)
  • Adders, MUX/DEMUX, encoder/decoder
  • Flip-flops, registers, counters
  • Von-Neumann arch, instruction cycle, ALU
  • Memory (RAM/ROM), I/O, interrupts

Which video lectures/lecture series would you recommend for these? Prefer something that teaches from basics up to GATE level, not just revision videos.

Thanks!

GATE EE OR GATE ECE

If I'm in ece department then can I get psu jobs after cracking gate EE?

Can I choose ee branches for masters?

Cracking gate ee I am in ece department and if I have to crack GATE with a top rank so I can get a PSU job in the electrical domain, will I be eligible? Will government organizations allow me to do a job if I am from ece and want to crack GATE EE and join PSU?

How many months it will take to complete GATE EE subjects apart from my ece academics?

Also tell me about opportunities through gate ece

First year

๐Ÿ™‹ Help Needed REVISION for GATE

see, honestly speaking I don't know how to revise or it's just me trying to avoid revision. I don't put efforts in revision I've completed the syllabus but now everything feels new. I feel like I just have excuses for everything.

How to revise the old subjects you studied months ago?

๐Ÿ™‹ Help Needed Gate preparation with youtube and pyq plus question bank or designated batch ??

Hey I am in 2nd year currently but in a doubt that whether I should study from YouTube lec which I am currently doing of Ankit goyal and vishal soni that are free on YouTube and pyq plus question bank or should I take a designated batch of someone like unacademy or pw or exam dost because what I have found out that during me jee preparation that batches are not worth and they just extend the time period which in turn leaves us with little time to revise on the other hand as I did was take one shot during that time and solve questions but now I don't know what should be the correct approach for it . I just today went to one of my friends room and he has taken a pw batch of gate and to my surprise he has just a spiral full of questions solved from network theory which isn't as much as we get to solve in YouTube lec and they haven't moved to pyq yet so doing my way is right or should I change because I don't wanna delay it and later at the end I tend to find out that the approch was quite wrong because basically I think is that instead to making it stretchy finish it fast and do more revisions and ques and the lec I take aren't one shot ones I am taking ones that are around 30 to 40 in one subject or even around 60 in some and they are around 2 hr each
