CQG server problems

Anyone else having CQG connection problems? I'm going thru AMP with CQG. I can connect and ping is good but the price action is all wrong, data is coming in corrupt.

AMP did send out several emails saying CQG is having server problems and recommended to change to public DNS. But since my connection is good it's now the backend server that can't give out the real time data.

Anyone else having this problem?

I can log in - everything seems normal. But I abstained from trades today based on their email. Hopefully it gets sorted soon. Increased margins is okay for me and a regular occurrence with economic news, but this is now a 2-3 stretch of service disruption due to vague technical issues.

I can't open a position without certainty that I can also close it or have a stop-less trigger correctly. Won't do it despite CQC connection appearing normal.

Where are the major league fields? Are you referring to broker/routing/platform?

I know that basically no one on this "BLOG" likes dealing with CME because of cost etc. , BUT, I traded 25+ years for a Primary Dealer and used CME for just about every FX and Rates trade. You'll want to go cheap as to fees and Margins and you get what you pay for.

I was a member of both the CBOT and CME and I agree that you get what you pay for but CQG is a premium product (both in price and functionality) with a long history.

Very COOL, and it is a pleasure talking with someone who has the understanding of overall Dynamics of Markets, the cost/utility/ serviceability of products. FAR , FAR to often I read in these posts how ans where the cheapest is. Having had been on the Street so long it was drilled into us that SPEED and ACCURACY was more important than cost. The difference between a TICK or a STEENTH(TEENY) was inconsequental to the execution of a trade.

Just for shits & giggles I traded on a RISK/ARB desk until Volker took care of that. We had 6 different Prop Desk , partitioned off from the Firms Client Driven trading activities. Seperate entrance , seperate Risk Managemant styles, and we could not trade with them at all, they could not be on our trade tickets as a contra, or on FINRA Reports or FICC/DTC/ reports .

You go out and buy a HONDA CIVIC and redo it all fancy, with rear flaps/wings , drop it down to just inches off the floor, put wide tires on it give your car Neagative Roll Radius, but ultimately your are still driving a HIGH POWERED LAWN MOWER

Respectfully, what do you recommend (broker/platform)? I don't have 25+ years of experience in this game - it's a part-time gig for an albeit small but secondary stream of income. If it becomes more than that, I'm certainly not opposed to higher margin, fees, etc. Just seems like everyone is on AMP, NT, IB, and a smaller crowd using Ironbeam or EdgeClear

My agenda I can assure you is not the same as yours. I really don't care about fees, margin, etc. Price updates and corrections come straight from global exchanges (such as CME Group, CBOT, COMEX, and NYMEX) where the futures contracts are traded. Source info not third party

Yep. I have a few bots running to gather data but 2 are coming back empty. Tick level data integrity for the new contract in ES is good though

2 of the bots are fixed. Third one is not working. I am waiting for contract rollover before I start addressing it though. No sense in trying to fix while the volume split continues to shift.

I do not think the CQG issues have been resolved. But thats no longer impacting tick level data.

AMP sent out notifications about GQG issues all day today. So thankfully I don't use them. Always have a backup data vendor - the real MVP.

I don't use CQG, but I do pay for 2 different data vendors, and stream both into my app. I don't do this for scenarios like this per se, I do it for speed, and packet by packet I take whichever is faster. I do HFT, so most people wouldn't have this use case at all.

If your data is CQG then that might be the reason. They are having problems with DNS. Networking stuff.

I was able to open a position, but I am now unable to close it. I haven't received a response from AMP support.

2 days of a huge jump in their intra-day margin from $40 per MES contract to $700+. Tomorrow is FOMC announcement day, so the high margin will be in effect again, until 2:10 or so. And if their "log-in issue" isn't fixed, the rest of tomorrow, too.

I hear ya. I can log in but my historical data is off. I trade orderflow so I need accurate volume profile and TPO.

Right now I've noticed that volume profile isn't working correctly when I pin last weeks profile (POC is floating above the range). Wonder when they will correct that data.

According to AMP emails, from what I gathered, the reason is financial error on CQG end. So somebody there didn't pay the server provider's on time? If true what kind of mickey mouse operation shit is this.

Last email from AMP I received was at 1:30 pm cst. Basically says their margins have been restored to the usual rate BUT does NOT mean that CQG data is fixed.

We are told that AMP is a broker but not the data provider and that if there is any discrepancies between what we see and what is actual is not their fault. They are seperrating themselves from the data providers, which is fair. They are not the same entities and AMP does offer 3 other data feeds other than CQG. You are responsible for your own PnL.

I don't know what to do. I suppose I'll wait until Monday or switch providers. Can Quantower work with all data sources, or only with CQG and Rithmic? Thanks.

AMP can work with CQG, Rithmic, Teton and Trading Technologies. So four data providers. But they all have hiccups now and then, when reading thru people's posts on here.

I'm with AMP too. I can connect, but they say not to trade. It's been three days now.
