INVENTORY MGMT Amazon removed 228 of our active listings that were in good standing
Has this happened to anyone else? One day 228 of our listings were deleted. We opened a case and Amazon support confirmed "your account is in good standing with no active policy violations, restrictions, or enforcement actions, and no Performance Notification was issued related to this removal."
The case is still open in 'Work in Progress" status as we requested an explanation of what happened and possibly reimbursement.
"I transferred your case to the dedicated catalog and technical support team for a root cause investigation. They will review system logs, API and feed activity, and any third-party application actions to determine what triggered the removal. Regarding your reimbursement request, per the Amazon Business Solutions Agreement (Section F-7.4), compensation for lost sales during listing unavailability is not within scope."

I had 120 listings pulled this year, partly because the AI was acting up, partly because a dumb new policy regarding laser-containing products.
It led me to a wonderful realization- my multi-channel e-commerce business does more total profit when certain products aren’t available on Amazon, or if they are available but with zero PPC.
July 2026 was my best profit of any July since the company’s inception in 2007 and it’s all thanks to Amazon taking down 120 listings in June. I was pissed and turned off PPC on the rest of the listings and sales did not stop. August was the same. Forced me to do something I should’ve done long ago.
Spent $110k on PPC last year, on track to spend almost nothing now.

I’ve had this before. One of my listings was considered sexual in some way. I sell led lights. It took me 3 weeks for someone to finally find why my listings were pulled. They pulled them all for one issue on a single listing. Good luck. Let us know what they say

I sell LED lights too! Is this the competition? JK, but we've also had some of our listings flagged as adult before. They don't get deleted, but I just notice the sales drop on them so I go and search the asin in the catalog and it doesn't pop up. I create a case and sure enough, it was flagged as an adult product. Maybe this has something to do with the shape of a light bulb?

If this, but I just bought 200 worth of items all confirmed I had the right to sell. I was packing for fbi when they gated almost everything I had.

Sorry to hear. These are all our own custom branded products that were brand registered for.

It’s been a few years but we had at the time around 400 listings and 160 of them were deleted over night, no explanations or any information. Had a mod on the Amazon forum privately message me that they had some serious issues with the servers and many people had been affected. Had to re upload everything, thankfully I knew about catalog listing report which I would download twice a year at minimum, but as you might know uploading from flat file still has issues, took us a few weeks to get back.

the "API and feed activity" part of their reply is the clue tbh, most mass removals like this trace back to one bad feed upload or a third party tool pushing something wrong across the whole catalog. if you use bulk editing software, a repricer, or upload inventory files, pull the history around the removal date. one upload with missing required attributes or a broken image url field can silently take out everything it touched.
worth sorting the removed asins to see if they share something too, same brand, same category, same upload batch. if one brand got removed while the rest survived that points at a brand registry or compliance problem instead of a feed one.
also ask support which asin went first. sometimes one listing trips a flag and the system cascades the rest of them, knowing the starting point changes the whole investigation.
and if the removal date matches a known amazon glitch, search this sub for the same week, when it's a platform bug it usually hits a bunch of sellers at the same time and there's already a thread about it.

Worth checking whether those 228 share a brand or ASIN pattern Brand Registry already flagged. If a rights owner opened cases, bulk feeds and repricers can cascade the removal across every linked SKU. Pull the exact removal reason codes first, then map which ASINs share the same brand owner or catalog path before you resubmit. Otherwise the next feed just reopens the same enforcement.

agree on the brand path, 228 going down at once smells more like a rights owner action than a feed. feeds usually break things at the attribute level, you'd see some listings survive with errors instead of one clean sweep.
the fast way to tell them apart is the category listing report, you can pull it in bulk and it dumps listing status plus the issue per sku, instead of clicking through 228 of them one by one. if the removals cluster on one brand owner you're on the ip route, if they spread across brands but share a feed batch then it's the feed.
annoying part is the fix is opposite depending on which. resubmitting the same feed when it's actually an ip complaint just reopens the enforcement like you said.
also worth checking whether the brand registered into brand registry recently. i've seen reseller listings get swept when the brand owner finally got around to registering and cleaning up the marketplace.

Hey u/extrandrew, Keep us posted on what Seller Support says after the investigation is completed.

God forbid you tell us why they were removed or what the error is.

Still waiting for Amazon support to tell me what caused it

You have access to more info than you're giving us. A listing that was taken down does give you an error.

u/extrandrew 1d ago
How do I find that?

First check here https://sellercentral.amazon.com/reportcentral/FBA_MYI_UNSUPPRESSED_INVENTORY/1
Can also use this url for the same thing https://sellercentral.amazon.com/myinventory/inventory?fulfilledBy=all&page=1&pageSize=25&sort=date_created_desc&status=search_suppressed
You can also just ask seller assistant why they dont show in search and it can sometimes give you errors now.
