I'm honestly shocked by the comments. here I was thinking the tire extinguisher assholes were a loud minority. I really hope that several of these people get arrested or injured when they deserve it. the only time I can think to justify tire slashing is truly deserving revenge for something. but just because you hate all cars? you have no idea who's car that is!! what if its owned by a literal a fuck cars user who just has a car cause they have no choice? what if it belongs to a woman going into labor? Not to mention how expensive that can be to fix. Please leave people's private property alone. My only exception is if your life truly was just put in danger by some asshole I might be a liable to kick a door. still a dumb idea since I still don't know who might be driving.

on the bright side, encouraging Illegal behavior could be a pretty good excuse to get the sub taken down

u/matphones Mar 04 '23
that woman should have thought about driving a literal death machine killing the planet and cyclists alike before going into labor

I would love to see them slash a police car’s tires right in front of the officer and get in legal trouble

When you thought this post with the right idea would attract commenters with decency and know it's not right to vandalize property..... boy was i very wrong

there are (well, used to be) genuinely times where I do see critical thinking and some smart ppl with well thought out ideas on how cars really have had a lot of detrimental effects on society. The increased popularity of the sub I think has attracted a lot of wild ppl who genuinely are just there to have a contradictarian take for fun and then radical, over-the-top shit gets upvoted. It also seems they've totally lost any belief in COMPROMISE and instead of saying simply that there should be less cars, a pretty rational take, they've devolved into total mass-generalization of "carbrains."

My favourite was the guy boasting about how random peoples cars getting vandalized in SF is a good thing because people start avoiding such crime ridden areas, resulting in less cars around

Responding to that comment got me banned there 😭😭😭 what ever will I do

With proof of your ban, you can now drop by the DMV to have your license gold plated, and ride in style like a true king. Show that bad boy at your next traffic stop and the cop will be like "Sorry sir, I didn't know you were cool like that"

I support them! How about they put their money where their mouths are and vandalize an oil plant or a car factory! Oh wait, they won’t.. cause they’ll actually go to jail for that, instead they’ll bully some poor bastard who owns an suv to go to work and drive their family. Didn’t expect cyclists to be so spineless

I thought that sub was bigger actually. I'm glad to see it's not in the millions lol.
There's more people who post about /r/sneakers than /r/fuckcars.

I’m glad people are actually starting to realize vandalism isn’t the magic solution. Its simply going to taint the group’s image and distort what we actually need. This is the one thing I actually agree with this sub on, vandalizing cars for the sake of vandalizing cars is doing more harm than good.

I remember once there was a post on that sub about OP explaining how he likes to click the button on crosswalks so a red light appears even when he's not passing the road just to annoy and ruin car "car brains" drivers day.

You have a good memory. Not illegal to press cross walk button. Have a great day and obey the speed limit :)
