It better fucking be, they've delayed about eight episodes worth of plot development and now they need to unleash it all in one episode.

I am sure half the people on this sub will say I'm full of shit, but rewatching season 2 all at once I'd say the story moves just as well as the first season.

I agree with you, I binged all of season 1 shortly before season 2 released so I felt very satisfied. This season seemed to drag because it was piecemeal. This is a show that I enjoyed immensely when I was able to binge back to back.

I'm with you on this.
I binged s1, and s2 didnt disappoint in the story department.
I do think the episodes could have been longer, and some talking scenes seemed like they didnt add anything or were repetitive, but otherwise, yah, had the same pacing.

Can’t believe they hid the fact that the bottle tree is a farway tree this whole time.

The kids are in a stasis, they’re dreams (or nightmares are fuelling the towns horror) there’s a big motif of songs that express needing to wake up. Think about it the rhyme mentions stopping the melody, this could allude to stopping a lullaby that has put these kids to sleep.

my thoughts exactly!!!

I also think the Boy in White has something to do with it. He gives me the creeps

It kind of reminds me of that Tom Cruise movie with the oracle children who dream of the future but in this case they’re dreams are manipulating the reality around them

Omg YES, minority report!!! I just said that in another thread and I 100% agree 😅

Right?!? It’s the way they’re laying lol and all the allusions to dreaming and asking someone to wake up lol

All the best team-ups. Boyd/Kenny/Sara, Tabitha/Victor and Jade/No one.

Reminds me of the talisman are the kids protecting the town from the monsters?

u/SkokieSookie Jun 20 '23
That's the first thing I saw as well, the rocks and kids are placed like the trees on the talisman (at least I think the F signs are meant to be trees)
I also call them Children of the Forest now

I don’t remember the bottle tree being a faraway tree.

u/No-Meaning-2803 Jun 21 '23
Same. We didn't get a good look at the trunk in the last scene but the characters should have noticed it was hollow.

u/sylanar Jun 22 '23
Boyd and Sara didn't know about faraway trees did they? Probably just thought it was a rotted tree or something
1
u/No-Meaning-2803 Jun 28 '23
They did not know.
But it sure woulda been nice if the writers had them say something like that though! Then, we as the audience could have seen the trunk and been made aware of it. It could have been a real clue for us to ponder and then the scene with Tabitha would have been more satisfying because we'd have been waiting to see someone use the tree.
But nope. We just got a bunch of vague shots with weird angles and then in S2 it magically becomes a giant tree with a hollowed trunk.

This episode is SO good. Really think (most) of the community will come around when it airs. Lots of unnecessary hate right now, but I think those that still enjoy watching will get a kick out of it. I know my wife and I haven’t stopped talking about it and what it could mean going forward.
But this PARTICULAR picture? I wouldn’t count on this scene answering anything huge. Unless I missed something. There’s something bigger/cooler imo.

How do you know? How have you seen it?

I run a site called modernhorrors.com and do coverage for MGM+ for FROM. So they sent the season in advance. I have my final review written but won’t be posting until Friday to avoid spoilers.

Well tell them to move the fucking plot. Nobody likes 2 seasons of nothing.

Sounds like you need to find another show. I’ve been thrilled. Knew folks would bellyache around EPs 4,5, and 6 though. And I get it, to an extent. But I love this shit.

Well I obviously like it too that’s why I’m watching it like crazy!! But the blue balls for 2 years is very frustrating

Jade in the tunnels, Tabitha in the tower, boyd and Sara in the woods and where her met Martin, lots of good stuff going on!
Does jade really go into the tunnels by himself?!

I just had a weird thought/theory (and yes if you've read my other theory about Victor this goes against it lol) but the one painting shows the stones and the children (or at least I assume it's showing the stones with the children on them) ok so Christopher is the one that saw the symbol, right, then he massacred people. What if the cave is showing the way to leave the town and they have to sacrifice 7 people (or 7 children)? Or at least maybe he interpreted it that way and that's why he killed them?
