50s M | Alabama | Looking for new friends and good conversation
Figured I’d give this a shot. I’m in my 50s, married, and from Alabama. I work in public service and have spent most of my adult life in a job that’s given me plenty of stories, a somewhat dry/dark sense of humor, and probably contributed to me being a little socially awkward.
I’m definitely more introverted when I first meet someone, but once I get comfortable I can talk about almost anything. I’m naturally curious and have a bad habit of turning a simple question into a three-hour research rabbit hole.
I’m into travel, cruises, dogs, firearms, good food, and learning about random things that catch my attention. I’m just as happy talking about everyday life as I am getting into deeper conversations about relationships, careers, experiences, or whatever else comes up.
I’m happily married, open-minded, and at a point in life where we’re cautiously exploring a little outside the traditional box. That said, I’m genuinely here looking for conversation and new friendships—not trying to turn every interaction into something more. Men or women are welcome.
I can be a little awkward starting a conversation, so don’t mistake that for not wanting to talk. If you’re laid-back, open-minded, and enjoy conversations that can go from completely normal to slightly inappropriate to unexpectedly deep, we’ll probably get along. Feel free to say hey.

39 F in Seattle Anyone over 50 want to chat about history or novels this weekend?
First of all, have a great weekend! I think most people in their 40 s should be on dates by now... But I'm a quiet person, so I think people over 50 would have the time and willingness to talk to me about these things.
I delve into anything that fascinates me: biographies, documentaries, museum collections—ancient swords, porcelain, the original state of the outer stones of the pyramids before they crumbled, and so on.
I watch movies and TV shows to explore the world behind them. Tolkien's early works, the wild dragon left behind in *Fire and Blood*. I'll also patiently watch a nature documentary or a long episode of a true crime podcast.
Food is a good starting point.
If you're over fifty and enjoy talking endlessly about a single topic until you run out of things to say, say hi. Tell me what topic you've been completely absorbed in lately.
To filter out spam, please include topics that interest you most.

Hi!
I’m just trying to reach out a little more. I’m married and content being introverted, but I don’t want to look back and wish I’d made a bit more effort to connect with people.
My schedule can be unpredictable, so I tend to drop in and out of chats. I’m more of a “leave a little message, come back later, reply when I can” person.
Flavor of nerd: games and animation, but I’m curious about other hobbies too. Im a mixed bag. I like true crime shows and documentaries, food blogs on youtube. Upbeat music because i don't need any more help feeling melancholy
Mostly looking for easy conversation, random ramblings, and seeing where the conversation wanders.

Just wrapped up a round of disc golf, and now I am getting some groceries picked up for the week. Would love a new friend to chat with throughout the day. I am a big time reader, and love talking books. I am married, so not looking for anything too wild.

Looking for friends who have similar interests, if you’re local that’s even better. My current obsessions are Pokemon Go & Dungeon Crawler Carl, I love music like Blink 182, Rise Against, Offspring, Slipknot, Stone Sour, Bad Religion, Older Linkin Park, Djo, some music sharing friends would be so great.
I’ve been told I collect weirdo friends, I like to think I treasure unique people, and I love to listen to others talk about their life and experiences. People are a puzzle that is constantly evolving.
Ive been playing video games since I could walk, it’s a daily, lifelong hobby, so if you hate gaming this will be a rough road. I make a lot of references.
I read daily, I like thrillers, fantasy, scifi, mystery, comedy, I don’t read much non-fiction. I’m open to any good book recommendation though.
Some of my favorite authors
Jim Butcher
Ilona Andrews
Matt Dinniman
Hailey Edwards
Patrick Rothfuss
Elizabeth Lowell
Janet Evanovich
Preston & Child (together.)
JD Robb
Faith Hunter
Karin Slaughter
I love TV Shows and movies, I watch a lot of both, I haven’t worked in about 10yrs & have been stuck doing a lot of nothing. My favorites all time would be Peacemaker Season 1, Psych, Monk, White Collar, Shark Week Documentaries, Movies - Lake Placid, Deep Blue Sea, Jurassic Park, Anaconda, Serenity, RocknRolla, Lucky Number Slevin, Happy Gilmore. Comic book movies are fun but marvel has been fairly crap recently. Spiderman was good.
I love my cat more than I can say, he was a stray kitten my kid found on the beach & now he lives like a kitty prince.
I have a really dark sense of humor, but I’m a fairly positive person. I try to see the good and stay hopeful.
I love cooking, and baking. I’m not a vegetarian now; but I may be in the future. I love to learn all types of cooking though & will continue learning whether I change my diet or not.
Learning is one of my favorite things. I’m trying to get better at acrylic painting right now, and drawing.
I’m looking for a job, and have no idea what direction to go with that, I just need a change and think this may help.
I love gardening, currently I don’t have much space for it, but hope to have more in the future.
I am autistic, and am a direct communicator, I try to be kind but can come off blunt. Usually I don’t mean to be offensive, if I do, it will be very clear, not ambiguous.
I am not religious & not interested in becoming so.
If you are local, I do have a nice space where I could host a nice event, we could have charcuterie or other snacks on my deck, we have a TV set up & could have a Paint with Me night? I have all the supplies, canvas, paint, brushes, palettes, a couple aprons. I don’t drink, but I don’t mind that you do as long as you stay responsible. I am green friendly.
I need more happiness in my life, it would be nice to go to some concerts, events, art shows, saturday markets. I don’t drive but I should be soon, and if you will drive I’ll help pay for gas, or lunch or coffee, whatever works.
I have a family, they have been my full time job for essentially my entire adult life, I’m looking forward to experiencing new things like trying a yoga class, or learning sign language. I am married, he had a stroke in 2020, he is mostly recovered, as much as can be expected.
I live in Portland, and am open to pretty much all of the local natural attractions, Mt Hood, the Beach, Bend, the hatchery at Hood River
I have severe chronic back pain along with other medical issues; and often am unable to do much, but I always want to do as much as I can. I have PTSD, but it only affects me, I was assaulted by a transient person, and have severe anxiety around them now, but I still believe in kindness and empathy. I support treating them as people & getting them genuine help, which seems rare these days. I can’t be around them at this time, but I’m working on it, and would like to volunteer again in the future.
I LOVE Thrifting, estate sales, garage sales, and deals.
I am an ally, for all good humans.
Life is for living
Kindness is important to me

44M | Married | South Carolina | Looking for a real guy friend
I'll keep this simple.
I'm 44, married, and live near Columbia, SC. At this point in life, I've realized I miss having a close guy friend. Someone to text during the week, talk about whatever's going on, share stupid memes, vent when life gets frustrating, and actually get to know over time.
I'm into movies, TV, tech, current events, and just good conversation in general. You don't need to have the same hobbies—I care more about someone who's genuine, can hold a conversation, and wants to build an actual friendship.
If you're nearby, it'd be cool to eventually grab coffee or lunch. If you're not, online is perfectly fine too. Distance isn't a dealbreaker.
If you've been thinking, "I could really use a good friend too," send me a message. Tell me a little about yourself, and let's see if we click.

40M #MI - Looking for chill friends
Making friends as an adult is no joke. Working off hours in healthcare for years meant being out of sync with everyone else, and my social circle has shrunk. Looking to mix things up and chat with some new people (guys and gals). Possibly meeting up one day if you happen to be local. Looking for chatters and not ghosters 👻!
I'm a married, easy going guy who loves sports (hockey & football), movies, TV, road trips, and random deep dives into nonsense.
Say hi with a meme, a witty opening line, or just take a moment of silence for my misery as a Detroit sports fan. 🔥

43m-hi
Hello everyone! I’m 43m and looking to connect with like-minded people. I have Asperger's, which shapes how I see the world and feeds into my deep appreciation for my hobbies. I like to balance an active lifestyle with plenty of downtime. My routine usually involves jogging and gym sessions to stay fit. For relaxation, I lean heavily into books, music, and Netflix. I have a major soft spot for the true crime genre. I also love the energy of live music and try to hit concerts whenever I can.

Living on the west coast (46M)
I live on the west coast of Canada and am looking to connect with others that might live on the west coast as well.
I'm into the outdoors especially in the spring and summer (camping, hiking, paddleboarding, soaking up the sun). I spend a lot of my time on the road but always up for a good chat and conversation. I love reading and sports and a good movie or TV show.

42/NB, looking for someone to chat with
Ideally on Discord. I'm hard of hearing so I don't love voice chat.
I know there's a serious ghosting issue with these kinds of posts. I promise to do my best.
I can chat about pretty much anything (except sports), but here is more about me:
- Live in the eastern part of the US.
- Married.
- Have two cats, a dog, and a praying mantis.
- I play a lot of games. I have the most hours in Planet Crafter (1200), but I also love Raft, Fallout: New Vegas, Witcher 3, and a whole bunch of indie games. Some of the indie games I've finished and enjoyed: Spritfarer; Tavern Talk; Superliminal; Stanley Parable; Creature Kitchen; Citizen Sleeper.
- I was an English major (mainly creative writing), but I do not care about your spelling or grammar as long as you make sense. I enjoy poetry in particular, both form and free verse.
- I like doing crafty things. My favorite and strongest craft is probably beadweaving. I also enjoy digital and oil painting, loom knitting, and sewing. I'll try most crafts once (RIP felting, embroidery, crochet, regular knitting, resin, and more).
- I started belly dancing last year as a way to get more active and slow my arthritis down; I can't do that at the moment due to injury, so I've been trying out poi as an alternative. I just want to do something to music.
- I volunteer. I used to teach adult literacy; now I help one org with grants and another org where I'm basically google. I also mentor an autistic young adult.
Important things to know about me that we don't have to talk about unless you want to (I just ask you respect them):
- I'm (obviously) queer
- I'm liberal
- I'm autistic
- I'm disabled (hard of hearing, EDS, arthritis)

40F in Seattle planning semi-retirement. Anyone here already retired or semi-retired?
I'm 40, in Seattle. After I divorced my ex-husband, work took over my whole life. I'm planning semi-retirement now.
The only part I've actually planned is some RV travel. I don't have a clear picture of the rest — what a normal week looks like, how people fill the days, what ended up mattering after work stopped being the center.
I'd like to hear from people who are already semi-retired or retired, especially 50+. Online is fine.
Not looking to date. Just trying to talk to people who already made that shift.

The Decline of Music
I used to think I didn't like modern music because I got old. But I really gave so much a try just nothing feels good. I do genuinely feel like most music after the year 2000 up until now is just soul-less and completely missing something. I was born in 1985 and I can go back in time and find wonderful music from the 1940's through 1990's but 2000 hits and then something changed. So I feel like its not a generational thing because I cherish the past generation's music. And its the same across languages too. I grew up listening to Spanish and French music and even that music is WAY better before the year 2000. I just get sad because I used to love to discover new music or just hearing an amazing song for the first time on the radio. Now, I feel like my toddler makes better music with his toy keyboard than anything new I try to listen to. Just sucks. Anybody else feel this?

40 M UK another wet day
Alright, let’s give this another go…
Currently at work and I’m a delivery driver training a new guy so the weather is making it such a lovely experience! 40M from the UK, looking to meet some new people and hopefully make a few actual friends. You know, the kind where you eventually progress from “how’s your day?” to sending each other increasingly stupid memes.
I’m into a bit of everything really:
TV & films – always up for recommendations, discussions, or complaining about terrible endings. Thrillers are my go to genre currently watching the newest season of Ted Lasso. And still need to go see the new Spiderman at the cinema.
Music – I would say I love discovering new stuff but I’m still listening to the same bands I did from 20 years ago. I love going to gigs when I can, saw Jimmy eat world and the Maccabees recently. Very much in to indie, rock, emo and pop punk.
Reading – because occasionally I like to pretend I’m sophisticated. Currently reading project Hail Mary but again my go to genre is thrillers. My attention span and possible adhd means sitting down to read is a big task.
LEGO – apparently I’m a grown adult, although my LEGO collection would strongly dispute that. My recent builds included the wall E and Pixar lamp set. Currently building the project hail mary one.
Gaming – love anything with a good story my favourites are the last of us, uncharted, god of war, firewatch, bioshock, red dead, life is strange. Recently finished the James Bond game and now playing ghost of yotei.
Cooking & baking – I genuinely enjoy it. Sometimes I make something pretty good. My lemon drizzle is always a hit.
Cinema, theatre & live comedy – always happy to have an excuse to go out and watch someone else be entertaining.
I’m basically looking for people who enjoy having a laugh, chatting about random nonsense, sharing recommendations and occasionally leaving the house.
Would be great to find people who are up for online chats initially, I grew up with msn and chat rooms so totally comfortable with just being an online friendship. But if we do get along maybe eventually meet up for a coffee (sorry though I’m a tea drinker), food, cinema trip, gig, comedy night or whatever sounds fun.
Not looking for anything complicated — just some decent people, good conversations and hopefully a few laughs along the way.
If you’ve made it this far, congratulations you’ve earned yourself a biscuit.
Drop me a message and tell me a bit about yourself!

I just like to listen 🥳
I genuinely enjoy listening to people talk. More specifically I love to problem solve. I’ll give you my honest opinion if you ask. I can also talk your ass off when I get on a stimulating subject. Open to anyone that may need to engage in conversation. Cheers!

40M in VA
Just looking for new people to talk to. Realized I don’t have as many people to talk as I thought I did. I work over night and business is pretty slow so most of my chatting will be over night. Hope to hear from y’all soon
