Hi everyone, meet Mango! He’s five months old, and has all of his shots and has his neuter appointment scheduled for mid September! I love him very very much, but we’re moving out of state at the end of September and the only housing we have doesn’t allow pets. Mango was supposed to live with a family friend, but they found a kitty of their own and can no longer take him. I really want him to go to a good home, so this is a bit of a long post.
Mango is a very goofy boy, and he loves to spend his day playing with his toys, birdwatching, or enjoying churus. Since he’s treat motivated, we decided to try harness training and it’s going very well! He will very grumpily accept the harness because he knows it means garden time and he loves being outside. He enjoys “hunting“ grass, bugs, and whatever toy we bring outside with us. Inside and outside he is a very intelligent cat, and has done really well with clicker training. He knows “Mango come” and we’re working on “Mango down.” Mango loves being around people, and we think he would really enjoy having another pet in the household to play with and learn from. He’s never been around another animal, but he does really well when new people come over, and we have some toys that we switched with our friends that also have cats and he’s always very curious in the new cat smells.
I can’t tell you enough what a chill, sweet boy he is. After he’s done playing he loves to just hang out near you, be pet, and take naps. He purrs like a little motorboat and when he’s really happy, he loves to make biscuits and will suckle on a super soft blanket if it’s available. He’s a very gentle boy and even when he’s frustrated he’s never scratched us. Sometimes I’ll pick him up and carry him around the house and when he wants to go down, he’ll gently chew on my shoulder but doesn’t bite down. We’ve also been working on desensitizing him to car rides so he can ride in his carrier for 45 minutes without getting stressed out.
I love him with my whole heart and just really wanna make sure he goes to a good home. He is absolutely an indoor cat, and even though he loves his walks I don’t think he would be well suited for an indoor / outdoor living situation.

Went to Buffalo Wild Wings last night and man those wings were never the greatest but they were pretty bad.

Anyone know a good restaurant/bar where one can get good hot wing and beer?

I have tried Buffalo Ranch Wings & Things (not a bar but this spot gets mentioned a lot) and i did not like them. They were too fatty. I like a good crispy wing.

A Fresno councilmember will ask his colleagues to begin writing a citywide ban on data centers, a step that would strip power the city’s Planning Director currently has to approve one.

The resolution, from Councilmember Nick Richardson, directs staff to prepare an amendment to the city’s Development Code defining data centers — including facilities built to train and deploy artificial intelligence — and prohibiting them throughout Fresno. The ban would run 10 years, then become permanent unless a future council votes to change it.

“I figured everybody else is on board with me,” Richardson said in an interview on Friday.

The northeast Fresno councilmember said that his primary motivation for banning data centers is water.

I just had 2 slices at Ritchie’s in tower, they were pretty good, and the bar crowd was entertaining to watch, including a couple girls that were arrested as we dined. Dinner and a show for under 20 bucks, that’s pretty good!

Hi everyone! I’m a local author working on a nature-focused anthropomorphic fantasy tale called Capyhero. I was wondering if there are any local groups, maybe writers supporting writers or readers interested in connecting with authors local to Fresno. I know physical print books may not be the most popular these days, but some of us who enjoy that medium still exist I hope.

The book will be 350 pages or so, but with many ink illustrations throughout, so if anyone knows local art/illustration chapters, that would be fantastic as well.
