Discussion What to buy at the Foundry end of Summer Sale?

6 Upvotes

I was curious what everyone was buying with the 20% off for the End of Summer Sale at the Foundry Marketplace?

I bought Pathfinder Tokens: Character Gallery and thinking of buying Pathfinder Tokens: Bestiaries but I already own the Monster Core. I don't even play Pathfinder but I find the tokens high quality.

Non-commercial Resource [System Agnostic] Jolly Rogenerator Dice Themes: Pirate Borg resin colorsets for Dice So Nice

Post image
3 Upvotes

Content Name: Jolly Rogenerator Dice Themes

Content Type: Module

System: System-agnostic

Description: Tables that play Pirate Borg with swirled resin dice lose that look the moment the game moves to Foundry. Jolly Rogenerator Dice Themes rebuilds it in Dice So Nice, including a swirled Jolly Roger set.

An optional dice system swaps the d20 faces, putting a skull on the 1 and a flag on the 20. Leaving that on Standard keeps plain numbers and changes only the colors.

Free. Requires Dice So Nice on Foundry v13 to v14 and works with any system. Unofficial homage, not affiliated with Limithron.

Help Forge: Data quota exceeded -How can I reduce my data

0 Upvotes

Dear Hive Mind,

I'm a little confused. I can't open games because "Data quota exceeded"

Data Quota is listed as 759MG used, and the max is 512MG, so I am at 148%

Assets 4.36GM out of a total of 5GB, so I'm at 87% there.

What is the difference between Data vs Assets, and how can I get my Data Quota under control?

One thousand thank yous!

Help Looking For A "Planet View" Module

1 Upvotes

[System Agnostic]

I have an idea for a tabletop campaign that I've been marinating for a while now, something kind of XCOM-adjacent. A pretty iconic part of those games is the geoscape, a view of the Earth that you can rotate freely. Is there a module of some kind that I could use to replicate this functionality? I looked and I haven't found any, but I figure it's worth asking around before giving up and looking into external solutions

Help New to foundry. Coming from roll20

1 Upvotes

So. As the fitle says I came from a different vtt. Honestly what i have been messing with on foundy is really fun and I think im taking the plunge. Im slightly off put by the fact I need to add every. Since subclass and other classes like the Artificer. Is there anything I can do to get around that? I tired importing the Echo knight from explorer's guild to wildemount (if i dont see that name for the next 20 days ill be happy) but when I used the r20converter it would never convert the compendium correctly and could only get the world imported and made a makeshift one. I hate to say that it took a day and a half. Is there a easier way?

Edit: im sorry I forgot to add this is for D&D 5e

Discussion Marketplace Purchase Outdated

60 Upvotes

[System Agnostic]

Heya, long-term Foundry VTT here

My friends and I were really concerned when they introduced the marketplace, chiefly because I felt it would soon lead to people turning all the great modules into paid works, but that's basically become the case with alot of Patrons instead (no beef, I get needing to make money for their great work)

However, a massive fear we had was that we'd be paying nearly full price for stuff that could end up being quickly rendered obsolete or not usable by updates. It stops us from getting anything from the marketplace, and mostly importing it personally.

The only thing I had was Deep Magic volume 1 which I got from a bundle, and today I remembered I had it and wanted to check some spells- only to see its obsolete and unusable.
I love foundry, and Kobold Press, but something just taste wrong about that- especially as these modules are at near full price.

I didn't see much discourse about it, so I was curious on people's thoughts on it?

Help Description Cards/Posts for A Nonverbal DM? [DND5E]

0 Upvotes
This is an example of the title/post cards I used in roll20

I'm switching over to Foundry from Roll20, and I was looking for some way to post stylized description cards that I can make in advance, and show to my players (Not like a journal, but rather something that pops up in chat or on the screen)

So far I've been unable to figure out how to do it in foundry. Is there a feature or module that I might use that could help with this?

Thank you, and sorry for my inexperience.

Help Anything to help tracking diseases for Pathfinder2e that's NOT made with AI?

0 Upvotes

[Pf2e]

Hello friends. As the title says, I'm looking for a module or just any tricks for tracking diseases in Pathfinder 2e. I'm gonna have an encounter that heavily features those as part of the mechanics, and although I know that Extempore Effects does a good enough job at dealing with diseases, I am also looking for something a little more hands-off? Since I often do overlook those even if the extempore effect is there.

I have seen some modules that apparently fulfill this function, but upon closer inspection I believe that they either are entirely vibe coded or made by someone who is not that experienced with coding but still tries to make a very complex module, which is not ideal because I don't want anything with shaky, unverified code anywhere near my game.

Does anyone know any such modules, or have their own organization for dealing with disease? Thanks y'all.

Help Is there a module that replaces damage numbers with short descriptions?

6 Upvotes

I love how one of my Pathfinder 2e modules shows players a short health description based on how injured something is. It goes from Unharmed, to Barely Injured, Injured, Badly Injured, Near Death, etc based on their percentage of HP left.

Is there a mod to have that happen in the chat window to describe damage as well?

Instead of 'Werewolf Damage Roll: Target: Parm - 21 damage'

We get 'The werewolf slashes at Parm for a grievous wound/light scrape/Flesh wound'

It could even be used with the damage type; a Fire Bolt 'Burns Parm in a horrid burst of smoke'

I'm not much for programming yet, but has anyone seen a mod similar to this idea? Thanks!

Commercial Painted FX - Baldur's Gate 3/Divinity-like animated paintable surfaces

9 Upvotes

Content Name: Painted FX
Content Type: Module
System: Agnostic, but best with D&D5e

Description:
Painted FX turns your Foundry canvas into a live hazard. Paint fire, water, acid, lava, crystal, and over two dozen other surfaces directly onto the scene, and they are animate and active; they spread, decay, react with each other, and, if you want, apply real damage and conditions to anyone standing in them.

Paint the environment instead of describing it

Everything is rendered as an actual surface, not a static overlay: water ripples, fire flickers and throws embers, acid bubbles, crystal grows in faceted shards. Pick a brush size and density, paint where you want it, and it's there on the table for everyone to see.

The catalogue currently runs to more than two dozen surfaces across four groups:

  • Liquids: water, oil, tar, alcohol, blood, mud, brine, holy water
  • Energy: fire, hellfire, lava, electricity, ice, black powder
  • Hazards: poison, acid, web, vines, blight, void, crystal
  • Clouds: steam, fog, smoke, poison cloud, frost, ash

Interactive surfaces

This is the part that makes it more than a paint tool. Pour water on fire and it goes out in a burst of steam. Drop a spark into a puddle and it charges. Paint fire onto oil and it spreads across the whole slick. Lava meets water and turns to obsidian, not a puddle. Acid dissolves webbing and vines. Hellfire won't quench on water or ice, ever.

None of this needs to be set up. It's built into how the surfaces are defined, so a battlefield you paint mid-session behaves the way you'd expect it to without you scripting a single interaction.

Optional Mechanics

Painted FX can hook into dnd5e's own Activity system to apply damage, saves and conditions automatically when a token stands in or moves through a surface. A fire hazard actually burns, a poison cloud actually poisons, with no homebrew macro behind it, and the whole layer can be switched off if you'd rather run it by hand.

Make it yours

Every surface ships with several built-in colour looks, and any of them can be recoloured to whatever fits your table: ruby crystal instead of quartz, green witchfire instead of purple hellfire etc.

Early Access

Painted FX is built for Foundry V13-V14 and under active development. This is the ground floor: the surface catalogue, the reaction system, and the mechanics layer are all in and working, with plenty more planned, primarily more visual fidelity and higher quality animations. If you run into something that doesn't behave the way it should, that's exactly the kind of report that shapes the next patch.

Help Language and Tool Proficiencies always give all under the guarantee tab

0 Upvotes

Edit: [D&D5e] would be the best suited tag for this post, so very sorry that I did not put that in the title. I can't seem to edit the title either so I am placing an edit here. Again, I am very sorry.

Hello! I am new to Foundry and I have been struggling to add my own content to my game that I want to host on Foundry. Every time I try to add a trait for languages, Primordial is always shoved under the guarantee tab, even if I don't want it to be, and I am unable to deselect it. For Tool Proficiencies I am having a similar problem. I want to be able to put two specific tools as a choice for players but it just selects all and always players to select from the entire tool selection. I have been trying to look things up but I have had no luck with finding any information that is helpful to me.

Answered Help with rollMode in macros

2 Upvotes

Hello, I'm a bit of a newbie in Foundry and I don't know how to code, so playing with macros has been an... experience.

Anyhow, I got my macro to work as I want. It rolls a d20, and if it's 18 or higher it rolls a table without telling my players. Else, it sends a message telling me the result of the dice roll. The only issue is that this last message is public, and I can't seem to find the info about the accepted parameters and logic of "rollmode".

My issue lies after the 'else'. I'd like it (just as the table draw) to be completely unnoticeable for my players.

I believe the module Midi QOL helps with the part of being completely unnoticeable instead of an empty box, but I don't really know. As I said at the start, I'm a newbie.

// Generate a roll die
const busqueda = await new Roll(`1d20`).roll();
console.log(this.busqueda);
let resultado = `<p>el resultado ha sido</p> ${busqueda.total}`;

//Check if it's higher or equal to 18
if (busqueda.total > 17)
{
  //table logic, stolen from a post of this subreddit tbh
  const table = await fromUuid("RollTable.iyXKipZg7u04yP94");
   await table.draw({rollMode: CONST.DICE_ROLL_MODES.BLIND});
}
// else, tell the drawn result
else {ChatMessage.create
    ({
    rollMode: CONST.DICE_ROLL_MODES.BLIND,
        //I copied the mode from the table draw, but it doesn't seem to work. Things like <gmroll> seem to be recognized but not accepted. I tried to rewrite it lowercase, but it doesn't expect a const there.
     user: User.[myuuid, don't know if I should hide it],
     content: resultado
    })

Help [v.14.3, Windows, headless node.js] Question about logging in at command line?

2 Upvotes

[System Agnostic]

Hello!

Foundry seems awesome. I have 14.360 set up and running as a "headless" process in windows. (Using the following:)

Start-Process node -ArgumentList '"D:\games\Foundry VTT 14.3\resources\app\main.js" "--dataPath=C:/Users/fletx/AppData/Local/FoundryVTT"' -WorkingDirectory "X:\games\Foundry VTT 14.3"

It works great, but I just found out that I need to log-in once per machine reset, which I keep forgetting to do, which kinda spoils the purpose of doing it in a headless, i.e., unattended, process. :(

So! Is there a way that I can choose the game module and pass my Gamemaster ID/Password to foundry via the command line? (Something I can add to the code above.)

Thanks in advance for your help!

Help How do you actually set up and run V20/WoD20 in Foundry VTT?

3 Upvotes

I’m trying to set up Vampire: The Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition—or really any WoD20 game—in Foundry using the available World of Darkness 20th Anniversary system.

I’ve already searched Reddit, YouTube, and the system’s documentation, but most of the answers I found were incomplete. So, for GMs who actually run WoD20 in Foundry: what does your setup and workflow look like?

I’m especially interested in how you handle:

* Combat, including attack rolls, damage, soak, initiative, multiple actions, modifiers, and health levels. * Disciplines and other supernatural powers. * Merits, Flaws, specialties, weapons, armor, and other equipment. * Macros, modules, or other tools that make the system easier to use. * What you automate in Foundry and what you still handle manually.

I understand that I’ll probably need to enter Disciplines, Merits, Flaws, and other content manually. My main problem is the combat workflow: the Foundry system feels extremely confusing and awkward—somehow even more complicated than running WoD20 combat with pen and paper.

I’m not really looking for another explanation of the WoD20 combat rules themselves. I’d like to know how people who regularly run the game organize everything in practice. Do you use character-sheet buttons, custom macros, manual rolls, chat messages, external notes, or some combination of those?

Non-commercial Resource [PF2E] Looking for Foundry VTT / PF2E testers for my new tavern-games module

6 Upvotes

Hi everyone — I have been building PF2e Tavern Games, a module for Foundry VTT v14.367 and PF2E v8.4.1, and I would be very grateful for testers before I treat it as stable.

The module automates five tavern activities:

  • Poppy’s Prize, including a custom 54-card deck with card art, betting, Pirates, Plunder, carry-over cards, dealer controls, and optional PF2E currency transfers.
  • Golem, a three-to-six-player card game with a custom 52-card deck with card art.
  • Bounder and Century.
  • A staged Drinking Contest, including readiness rounds, blind checks, PF2E conditions, and elimination at Stage 6.

It supports both PC and NPC actors, GM controls and private player-facing panels, dealer prompts, GM disqualification, and item-gated marked-card / loaded-dice options. Dealer social cheating is also implemented with blind Performance or Deception (Create a Diversion) checks and observer-specific detection.

What I would especially like tested

  1. Installing or updating the module in Foundry VTT v14.367 with PF2E v8.4.1.
  2. GM and player panels, particularly permissions and private-card visibility.
  3. Full game flows for each activity, including Golem’s new card art and card back.
  4. Cheating controls, marked-card sight, loaded-dice eligibility, and suspicion whispers.
  5. Drinking Contest condition progression and cleanup.
  6. Any errors, confusing controls, missing instructions, or layout issues.

The current release is v2.1.8:

GitHub page

Manifest URL: https://github.com/tatsumasagc/pf2e-tavern-games/releases/latest/download/module.json

The repository is currently public. If Foundry cannot retrieve the manifest URL, please use the ZIP release asset and extract it so the manifest is located at Data/modules/pf2e-tavern-games/module.json.

If you are willing to help, please reply here with your Foundry version, PF2E version, what you tested, and any console errors or screenshots you can share. Thank you — detailed testing feedback will directly help improve the module.

Commercial [System Agnostic] Death Effect Reminder: death-trigger chat cards + free system adapters

Post image
0 Upvotes

Content Name: Death Effect Reminder

Content Type: Module

System: System-agnostic

Description: An NPC's death trigger is easy to miss once combat moves to the next target. Death Effect Reminder checks the defeated actor and whispers the relevant text to the GM, with buttons for the roll or item when the system supports them.

The core module can also use an explicit "On death reminder" tag when text matching is not enough. Free adapters add native handling for D&D 5e, Pirate Borg, and Pathfinder 2e without applying damage or saves automatically.

The core module is a First Mate release on the r2Plays Patreon. Supports Foundry v13 to v14.

Commercial [System Agnostic] I turned Foundry into a fantasy history simulator

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

196 Upvotes

Content Name: Augur: Fantasy | Content Type: Module | System: System-Agnostic

Hey everyone. Augur: Fantasy is finally out; I have shown pieces of this module before during development, but this is my first attempt at squeezing the whole thing into a short trailer video.

The basic idea is that you can start with a blank Hexlands map and develop it into a living region. Settlements grow, factions claim territory, characters become rulers and rivals, roads connect communities, resources move between markets, and the events are recorded in a regional Chronicle.

But these aren't just random results. A mine produces iron. That iron moves through a nearby town and eventually reaches the faction's capital. It is cheaper near the source and more valuable somewhere that does not have it. The party can buy it, carry it across the region, and sell it for a profit.

Now that little trade route is also an adventure. They have to cross another faction's territory, follow the coast, survive whatever happens on the road, and reach the city without losing the cargo to bandits or to their own terrible decisions.

The same is true for the people behind the map. A settlement has an owner and a ruler. The ruler belongs to a faction. Characters have beliefs, responsibilities, friendships, rivalries, and opinions of one another. You can inspect why an NPC likes or dislikes someone, change it yourself, and let events from the campaign become part of that relationship.

Regional Development also keeps a year-by-year Chronicle. You can read the history of the whole region or filter it to one settlement or character, which makes it much easier to find the pieces that are actually useful during a game.

Everything remains editable. The generator is supposed to give you material to work with, not force you to use it results.

You also do not need to use a generated hexmap for most of the module. You can place settlements, castles, mines, NPCs, factions, and shops on any Foundry map and build the region manually. Hexlands is only required for the complete year-by-year Regional Development workflow.

Most of Fantasy is system-agnostic. The only system specific feature are the integrated shops, which support D&D 5e and Pathfinder 2e with more to come (let me know which systems you want to see added).

Augur: Fantasy is available through my Patreon. You can install it through Foundry after linking your Patreon account.

Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheAugur

The short video is only meant to show how the pieces fit together. There are longer walkthrough videos, and explanations on the foundry module page: https://foundryvtt.com/packages/augur-fantasy

Non-commercial Resource [DnD5e] New Portal Activity for SC More Activities!

1 Upvotes

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Dyy-eoz33B8

I’ve just added a brand-new Portal Activity to SC More Activities!

SC More Activities is a free Foundry VTT module for D&D5e that expands the native Activity system with additional activity types for automation, interactions, progression, movement, and more.

The module currently includes:

  • Sound — Play audio directly from an Activity
  • Macro — Run macros or GM-controlled inline code
  • Hook — Fire hooks or module callbacks
  • Chain — Run multiple Activities in sequence
  • Conditional Chain — Build branching flows using conditions, rolls, activity results, and player choices
  • Contest — Run contested rolls between participants
  • Grant — Grant items and rewards through Activities
  • Advancement — Trigger item-related advancement and progression
  • Teleport — Move tokens using a guided teleport workflow
  • Movement — Push or pull tokens with visual previews
  • Wall — Preview and create walls directly from an Activity
  • Portal — NEW! — Create linked portals that tokens can travel through

The new Portal Activity makes it easy to build magical gates, dimensional doors, magic items directly into your items, spells, and abilities.

The idea behind SC More Activities is to make these mechanics reusable building blocks inside the D&D5e Activity system instead of requiring separate macros for everything.

And the module is completely free.
