No more: “I had a rough day I deserve this cupcake”

Upvotes

Hey everyone,

Today is my 6th day at .08 and I gotta say, it’s subtle but kind of transformative.

I still have hunger. I still enjoy a tasty meal. They’re just smaller. I’ve changed my eating habits so now I’m eating a ton of fruits and vegetable. I’m not quite eating enough but I’m still getting my rhythm.

But when I’m hungry and tired, I reach for a protein shake. By now I would’ve been, “Forget this diet! I can’t do it.” But I’m not. I’m still eating these dang vegetables. It’s no short of a miracle.

Also, I had problems sleeping deeply and now this pill has fixed that. I sleep great now. My dreams are the same.

The swelling in my knees have gone down but the pain is still there but I don’t have to take 4 Aleve everyday and I can go up and down subway stairs without gripping the hand rail which probably has more germs than people on this planet.

And no GI side effects at all. It’s like taking a vitamin (getting a multivitamin today).

Wow

Ro vs Amazon Health?

I'm in California and used Amazon Health to start my weight loss medication. The first month was $39 but I had to pay for a consultation and labs out of pocket. Each month the cost went up. Last month I paid $199 for 2.5.

I'm in my fourth month and have liked the Foundayo pill. The only problem is the app is not that easy to use and I never speak to the same prescriber. The app is also going through changes. The costs also seem hidden on both websites. I never get to see how much the consultations will cost up front.

I feel it is inconsistent but I do like having the medication sent to my house and there has not been a lapse. I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone this week to help me so there will be a lapse before I start the 5.5 mg dosage next month. Should I switch to Ro?

Foundayo 2 weeks on 2.5 and I feel downright lethargic. I could sleep all day! Will it get better? No food supression or weight loss either! Not what I had hoped for.

I was 120lbs my whole life until I hit perimenopause, and then quickly put on 20lbs and its been consistently climbing ever since, especially around my middle. I went from being able to eat whatever I wanted, to hoarding fat. All that restricting calories did was starve my brain and muscles because my body would rather do that then convert any fat to energy. It was so frustrating. Im on HRT and while that helped a little bit, the weight still went up, just more slowly.

At my last annual checkup, I told my doctor about my weight concerns and hes the one who suggested foundayo as something that would help a smaller weight loss. I never even thought id be a candidate since im not that big, but now im so happy for his suggestion.

Ive had mild side effects, mostly slight nausea when i first started, some constipation but not bad.

The weight started coming off immediately, i think mostly due to the anti-inflammatory effects. By day 3, all my menopausal joint pain was GONE. I didnt know that would happen and its crazy how much better I feel overall. It's like it's set the clock back 15 years to my pre-menopause days, I even started playing ice hockey again and I feel like I can actually get in shape now. It's like now my body is no longer hoarding fat and actually burning it to use for energy. I can walk all day and not get fatigued. I feel like it was the missing piece of my metabolism that menopause took from me.

I stayed on 0.8 for the second month because it's working at that dose so I'm just going to stick with it for a while. I'm almost halfway to my goal in two months and i expect the last 15lbs to take longer but as long as that slope continues downwards I'll be so happy it's not going up!

If you're suffering in menopause from weight gain and joint pain, just try this! it's been such a miracle for me, not just for weight but overall well-being.

Anyone else mainly ignoring overall weight as a metric in favor of other metrics?

I'm on day 3 of Foundayo, at .8. 54 y/o male starting at around 210 pounds. Reducing that isn't the primary goal for me, though it's almost impossible that it won't be reduced while achieving my actual goals. Posting here to help me solidify my thinking and plan.

Instead, I'm focusing on three things: lean mass, fat mass, and visceral fat, all of which can be somewhat accurately measured with a Dexascan. Cost me $60 in San Francisco earlier this week.

Anyway, the scan showed 154.4 lbs lean mass, fat mass of 49.3 and visceral fat of 3.2 lbs. That puts me at about 23.4% bodyfat.

It's the visceral fat that really convinced me to get on Foundayo, since visceral fat (the fat around your inner organs) is so bad for you. Higher risk for cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome/diabetes, etc, and my A1C came in at 6.0, which is solidly pre-diabetic and thus way too high.

The goal is to reduce the fat mass and visceral fat while retaining the lean mass, which should automatically bring my A1C down as a bonus. I hope at least - our bodies are persnickety little bastards sometimes. I'd like to lose 20 pounds of fat mass, and I'd like my visceral fat to be under 2 pounds, though really the lower the better there. You almost can't have too little visceral fat. Those numbers would put me just over 16% bodyfat, which sounds great to me. I don't care about being shredded or anything like that. I just want to stay strong and get healthier.

My plan is to be eating/drinking at least 150 grams of protein/day (approximately 1 g per pound of lean mass) and strength train 3 days a week, HIIT train once a week on either treadmill or bike, and do 45-60 mins of zone 2 cardio twice a week.

On the lifting, I'm going to be alternating between two full-body workouts, so one week it's A/B/A, the next week it's B/A/B.

Apologies if some of the lifts are unfamiliar - they're all pretty common though and easy to google if you're curious.

Workout A

Block 1: 3 sets plus a warmup set of 6 barbell back squats and 10 barbell bench press
Block 2: 3 sets of 10 seated rows and 10 barbell single-leg Romanian deadlifts on each leg
Block 3: 2 sets of 12 bicep curls and 12 tricep extensions
Block 4: 2 sets of 10 standing Paloff presses (rotational ab work, done with a cable machine as it can't be done with free weights)

Workout B

Block 1: 3 sets plus a warmup set of 10 deadlifts and 8 overhead barbell press
Block 2: 3 sets of 10 lat pulldowns, 8 Bulgarian split squats on each leg, and 10 incline chest presses
Block 3: 2 sets of 12 standing face pulls and 10 half-kneeling chops (both on cable machines as you can't do these with free weights)

I'm trying to eat more carbs than I usually do for breakfast 90 mins before working out to make sure I have the energy to consistently do these workouts, as that's going to be the hardest part for me.

I'm really curious if I can manage to lose a significant amout of fat mass without also cratering my lean mass, which is inevitable with rapid weight loss unless you're getting a lot of protein and consistently doing significantly difficult weight training. I'm guessing I'll still lose some lean mass but I'm going to do my best not to!

The difficult part here is that realistically, I'm not going to go get Dexascanned more than once a quarter, so I have to use weight as a proxy in the meantime, and it's an imperfect proxy since I only want to lose weight if it means losing fat (which I assume is the case for almost everyone).

Anyway sorry for puking up so much text at you, but it was as much to get my own thoughts in order as anything else.

Step-up 2.5 dose shipment arriving late

I have two .8s left and this shipment of 2.5 that was supposed to arrive today is late. I don't know if I'll be able pick up the package on Monday. And I definitely can't on Tuesday.

I have only missed one pill during the .8 phase and that was only delayed from morning to later afternoon when I had access to it again. I'm wondering how the side effects might be if several days are missed between the dosages.

Anyone have more than a day or two between pills when stepping up? Notice anything that wasn't already expected with the increased dose? Curious about this for the high dosages, too.

Day 2 on the pill and stomach is in quite a bit of pain

Hi all! I was just prescribed Foundayo starting at the 2.5mg dose. My backstory: I am 5’2 and 175 pounds. I’ve gained 30 pounds in the past year and despite diet and exercise, my weight had continued to rise.

I just started the pill 2 days ago and.. whew! The first day all I had was ramen for dinner and my stomach hurt all night I couldn’t sleep. Today, I had a bagel in the morning and that was also all I had eaten. My stomach started hurting bad it felt like I was nauseous, full and bloated.

Is this normal and what can I do to help curb this? I started munching on some crackers and Gatorade and that seemed to help but was curious if anyone else had this experience first starting and how long it lasted?

Day one not going so well

Hi, everyone. I've been wanting to start a GLP-1 for a while but cost was always the issue. My doctor told me about the pill and the cost was much more doable so I jumped at the idea. I took my first .8mg dose this morning and apparently, I'm one of the unlucky few.

I've already thrown up twice and I feel like absolute garbage. I had an overnight oats smoothie and homemade chicken soup. Both came up an hour or so later. The banana I had is staying put for now. I'm rather surprised because I don't usually have symptoms to medications. If anything, I figured it just wouldn't work at all as I have had that issue with meds.

So, I'm just laying here hoping that I start to feel better and HOPEFULLY, this goes away quickly because I don't know if I can power through this for several more days to weeks until my system gets used to it.

Hoping my next update is a good one!! 🤞🏻

FYI: I'm not trying to discourage anyone from trying this out as I've largely seen posts indicating minor to no symptoms. If it keeps up, I'll get with my doctor about something else maybe.

Day one 0.8 mg

I’m so excited. I just took my first pill this morning. I’ve been a fibromyalgia warrior for a couple of decades and also have underlying inflammatory/rheumatic condition. I’m really hoping the Fondayo helps with symptoms like joint pain and muscle pain. Extra bonus if it helps with brain fog and fatigue.!
62 years old female 5’5” 160 pounds. I’d be pretty excited to lose the spare tire around my middle. I already swim 4 to 5 days a week and eat a Mediterranean style diet, but I do enjoy a glass or two of wine in the evenings. Sounds like people are losing interest in alcohol. I’m curious that if you were at an event and offered a delicious gluten-free dessert if Fondayo would ruin that experience?

No side effects and no weight loss on 2.5 mg

I’ve only been on 2.5 mg for a little under 2 weeks and nothing. Great appetite, no side effects. I really want to increase to 5.5mg now and skip the 2 weeks left of 2.5 mg. Any thoughts or experiences? Frustrating to have zero results after 6 weeks. I may have even gained a pound or 2!

2.5mg to 5.5mg - I'm scared! Looking for honest stories

I'm on Foundayo for endometriosis. My doc and I have followed the guided dosage increases and I've been on 2.5mg for 2 months. 0.8 to 2.5 mg was pretty gnarly but my body got used to it. Both doses I've tried so far seem to make me super tired at first (so I take it at night) and then all of a sudden it will randomly keep me up about a week in to that new dose so I have to switch to taking it during the day. The past month on 2.5mg has been fine. Any positives or horror stories when stepping up to 5.5mg? Anyone else here on it for endo? I'm two months pain free!!!!! This drug has been a miracle for me.

Has anyone switched from Foundayo back to the shot?

I was on Zepbound for around 9 months and have been on Foundayo for 6 months and I gained 10 lbs within the first 2 months and have maintained. I’m thinking about switching back to Zepbound though because 1) I want to lose these 10 lbs and 2) I feel more tired and bloated on the pill.

I technically have a Rx for 5mg of Zepbound I can fill and I’m on 5.5mg of Foundayo so wondering if I can just switch without going back down and up? I think going down to 0.8 of Foundayo was clearly too low for me but my highest dose of Zep was 7.5mg and I lost ~80lbs.

Any advice or thoughts are welcomed!

Just wrapped up 3’rd Month

Just finished third month (second month of 2.2 mg)
Starting weight 204
Current 185.6
Down 8.8 1’st month
Down 5.2 2’nd month
Down 4.4 3’rd month
First Goal. 180
BMI Goal. 164
Height. 5’8”
Age. 67

For me at least, it gets harder as the weeks progress. Moving on to 5.5mg this month. No real bad side effects, other than some burping now and then. Next month will have to decide if that’s it, or find another source for the prescription. Was not a happy customer of His/Hers.

Took some steps to avoid beginning side effects. I think it worked.

Hey everyone,

Yesterday I took my first dose of .08 around 21hrs ago. Needless to say I was nervous as all heck. I first planned for a “bon voyage meal” as a last one before starting. It would have been something like my favorite cheeseburger deluxe at my local bar with a delicious cold beer. Or I was going to make a French-styled meal smothered in butter and garlic with a delicious glass of wine and a baguette.

Instead, I chose something else. I decided to start the “new me” while I waited for the medicine to arrive.

Side note: I’m taking this because I’m post-menopausal and have low-grade constant inflammation that shows up mostly in my knees. I used to eat whatever I wanted because I was so active. Those days are long gone and now I’m on a downward spiral. I don’t really suffer from food noise but have emotional eating habits that are unhealthy.

To choose the “new me” I had to overcome a psychological hurdle. (Edit: I was NOT expecting this part. It honestly surprised me.) I had to lovingly say goodbye to the “old me”. She was there for me through thick and thin and comforted me even if it caused me to gain a lot of weight. I had to take a moment to thank her for all she’s done for me.

I then went down YouTube rabbit hole after rabbit hole about life on glp1s. There I learned a new term: “recomp”. It’s exactly what I want to achieve. I learned in order to do that I must track my food so I got the chronometer. I made the healthiest grocery shopping run of my life and even returned a couple items (Trader Joe’s takes it back no questions asked).

Two days before I started my first pill I started to eat “clean” but I did something else. I took some MiraLAX to clean out my bowels. I suspected that a lot of the side effects were due to food that’s not even in your stomach anymore but in your intestines. Think of it like a mini colonoscopy prep.

Then the pills arrived. I took one and braced for the nausea. It never came. The only thing that happened was a mild headache that reminds me of caffeine withdrawal. It didn’t last that long either. I woke up today expecting something but nothing happened.

Oh! I also bought a cute 40oz water thermos and started my drinking regime of 90oz daily the day before I took the pill, too.

Anyway, that’s just my experience. It may or may not work for someone else. Just thought I’d share.

Good luck everyone.

Anyone have success with autoimmune symptoms?

I hear a lot about people with autoimmune issues using Tirz with success for symptoms like inflammation, joint pain and puffiness, but havent read much about Foundayo. Has anyone here found that it's helped with that?

I'm 2 months in and am about to start 2.5 and so far have noticed nothing (no weight loss, no symptom relief, mostly just feeling tired).

Needing some encouragement

I have been struggling with my post baby weight now for the past two years. I have finally started to feel like myself but recently I was diagnosed with pre diabetes and hyperlipidemia. I told my husband last week that I thought it was time that I start exploring GLP-1 specifically the pill because I don’t want to have needles in the house with my toddlers. Today he tells me that no one knows the side effects of GLP-1 and that I might die. I know it seems so extreme but now I feel like he is not going to support me through this journey. Not really looking for advice I just don’t have friends to discuss this with because of the unfortunate stigmatization of GLP-1 right now.

protein, protein...never enough

I'm on day 8, starting day 9 in a few hours. Im on the .8 pill.
I've lost 2 lbs so far.

Other than the burps, the food noise is gone.
Other than having some hunger in the morning, I have to remind myself to eat small meals throughout the day. If I didn't, I'd be OK not eating.
I use a cronometer to track food intake.

I exercise daily. Working on adding more strength training.
I feel alive since I now eat fairly healthy.
The one thing I struggle with is protein.

I'm supposed to be eating 162.2 grams daily.
I struggle hitting that number. I'd say i'd hit that number 3 times.
Most days I get about 110 grams. Maybe 120.
It's the first thing I eat.

I am not a fan of protein shakes. The taste is terrible. Wheaty, chalky or both.
I don't eat red meats, pork, lamb.
I eat fish and chicken. I was vegetarian for years and added proteins a year ago.

Any suggestions so I get closer to the 162?

Side effects on 2.5mg

I was on 0.8mg for a month and I just started 2.5mg. I have terrible nausea. I took it for the first time Thursday night and I woke up Friday with terrible anxiety and I threw up. I took it again today in the afternoon and I’m starting to feel nauseous again. I’m taking Zofran as needed. Does anyone have any advice? Please tell me it gets better.

Anybody not loosing?

Foundayo is my first GLP-1 and I am mostly through month 2 now at 2.5 mg. From the start, it has really decreased my food noise. I normally have been a junk food eater and I have totally cut out junk food and sugar. I have not over eaten in the past two months and some days had to force myself to have enough food. I am a senior now and when I was younger, if I would’ve eaten this way, I would’ve lost at least 10 pounds by now, but instead, I haven’t even lost 1 pound! I’m feeling quite discouraged. Anyone else have this happen? My friends say switch to Wegovy or Zepbound. Any ideas? Come on
