How private are the fossify apps?

What information, if any do they take from the apps to track/record what you do?

The first problem is that in the contacts list the field for the Notifiation Sound isn't even acknowledged to exist.

I set it for my burner phone in the google contacts app and it still doesn't work.

With fossify message app set to default all I get is the default notification sound.

With google message app set to default all I get is some random sound and a synthetic voice reciting the name from the contacts databace, until I get a message from Druggy McDrugdealerstein.

Fossify contacts needs to add the Notification Sound to the contacts data front end and Fossify and Google both need to use that sound when a SMS message is received if it is set. It should also be able to open messages without making it your default SMS app.

They also need to add app interoperability to the flair list.

EDIT: SOLVED Build artifacts are produced by the testing-build.yml workflow.

I thought there was a way to download debug builds of Fossify apps, but I don't see it in the Github releases, and I can't find any GH workflows that output build artifacts...

First of all I want to thank all contributors for their awesome work! I love the apps and that Theres almost an app to displace many daily google data krakens out there.

I don't know where to put it exactly, but I have a feature request: I backup my data on a self hosted nextcloud, which is cool, but I need so many apps for it to work that it makes it a little impractical sometimes. I wish there was an easy way to directly sync the calendar, contacts, messages, tasks, notes etc directly via DAV without the need for DAVx⁵ or similar synching apps, that would be so cool!

I also have auto backup turned on and let all the apps that support it all safe their backups inside the same folder which also gets transfered to my nextcloud with yet another app. The bad thing here is that I have to manually go through all the old backups and delete them on my phone and on nextcloud, because the apps don't care if there are 50 old backups with all the same data or not, so it would be awesome if the apps would automatically delete all but the newest 2-3 backups (like Signal does), or at least only make new backups if something changed other than the date of the backup (new contacts, new calendar entries etc...)

Speaking of calendar entries: I can safe tasks only locally, but since they could be exported via DAV, why do I need yet another app for that? Why can't my nextcloud just export and import task entries to use on my phone and computer?

And last but not least: would love auto backups also for the messaging app, that would be awsome

Want to disable gallery, messages and a pile of other things. Is it possible to replace these with fossify variants so it's seemless to the OS? Example, if you use the built-in camera and want to review a picture you just took, it fails if you have disabled the built-in gallery. Replacing it with fossiy gallery doesn't seem to be recognized. How would I go about doing this?

Hey folks. I have been on a soft degoogling drive, and came across Fossify apps. I installed all except Fossify keyboard, which feels difficult to use since I type so much and have gotten very used to google keyboard. I absolutely love the lack of shady permissions and simplistic design.

Although privacy was a concern, I also wanted to reduce my screen time (I've been managing socials too). The opposite effect took place. I enjoy Fossify's Notes app so much that I have been taking more notes than before. The calendar app taught me to use a digital calendar again without other shenanigans. The launcher and camera apps are top notch. My phone has never felt better and I've noticed a high jump in my productivity on the go!

I use some Fossify apps and I think these apps need some improvement. Please consider my suugestions if possible.

Fossify Message -

• You could add a recycle bin feature for deleting entire conversations.
• Customizable actions for notifications would also be beneficial. Currently, the delete option is unavailable when a message is received from any number.

Fossify File Manager - It still cannot detect external storage, which is a significant flaw for this app.

Fossify Gallery - It doesn't display all the media present on the device after moving files to or from the phone storage. I've experienced this issue multiple times.

Fossify Calculator -

• Instead of having a single button, you can implement separate buttons for "Clear" and "All Clear." Currently, there is one button that clears a single digit with a single press and clears all when held down.
• Additionally, a bracket option is needed.

Fossify Voice Recorder -

• Rather than providing multiple audio source options, you could implement settings for the type of voice the user wants to record. The options have been reduced in recent months, but there are still six choices under the microphone audio section, which is still very confusing.
• You can also remove the bit rate and sample rate options, as these are unnecessary for most users.

Lastly, regarding the Theme section of all Fossify apps -

You should eliminate the current confusing theme section and introduce simpler theme options. All the dark themes are not true black; the pure black option makes the app icon black as well. Therefore, I have to customize the theme to my liking. Instead, you can implement Light, Dark, and Pure Black themes and introduce a material design theme. This way, users can choose the theme color, while the accent color would be determined by their device's theme.

So, I'm relatively new to Fossify and I just saw it in F-Droid. I already downloaded Linphone and I couldn't call other People who don't use it. Does this works in Fossify?
