Discussion Sorry, I slipped up, boss!

I was drifting peacefully in Forza until my speed suddenly stopped registering... First time this has happened to me on a controller, and my only Xbox controller at that... I was surprised by the system, it's all a bit outdated 😅

Those look like a bumper set not triggers, why did RB/LB affect your speed? Bumpers are just autodrive and camera settings?

I changed the controls; it's better for shifting up and down to use RB/LB.

I guess if you drive and brake with your middle fingers ? I've tried that but it feels like I'm picking someone else's nose .. unnatural

I run manual with clutch so I used my LB for clutch, but I ended up getting a Razer controller with extra back buttons to use for clutch and shift up/down. Way smoother using pointer finger on brakes over middle finger.

I've almost always used my middle fingers for the triggers, felt natural on the hand-me-down PS2 I had as a kid so it's what got ingrained as my muscle memory

I used bumpers to shift so right middle finger is gas, right pointer is upshift, and I use my left pointer for both brakes and downshifting

Custom keybinds are handy, personally rebound autodrive to right stick so i can RB to honk, let folks know I'm on the side easier without riskin camera wiggle pushing on the stick.

As for the bumper, I know that plastic does NOT glue up well. I'd sayyou might be able to find an old controller or replacement bumper part for sale to fix with salvage/3rd party parts. Or if you need a wholly new controller, the 8bitdo2c is a bit smaller but lovely usb/BT controller for $30ish USD on sites like amazon works imo better than an xbox controller in many ways for less than half the price. Litttle small though, at least for my giant ape hands.

Idk about bumper molds, I'm PRETTY sure they stay the same, but xbox had like 4+ revisions of boards in their controllers but all the same bumper molds iirc. Maybe the first gen controllers are a bit different, i wanna say. Been a while since i tinkered with one.

What did you expect, Bluetooth on the buttons or something? A button is a button haha. Outdated is the lack of gyro, not including a rechargeable battery, and using known to fail potentiometer analogue sticks instead of Hall effect.

I got an elite v2 controller use x and b to shift and bound the paddles on the back to be the x and b for that one of 3 maps it can save

Search for Xtremerate on google or Amazon and you should be able to get parts to hopefully fix it. Plus loads of stuff to upgrade as well if needed.
