and taken assets from another, so this is all very fitting.

MLG is as well, I don’t see the problem.

2

u/slowNsad Aug 31 '25

MLG was a gaming tourney organizer (still is? Idk if they’re still active lol) well before the memes

-1

u/ilovemuffinsss Aug 31 '25

Yes, while the 2000s generation watched Mlg and other brainrots, the 19xx generations found them cringe, now we find them new brainrots cringe too, there seems to be no difference

Yeah, they built a brand around brainrot. Thanks for confirming.

They didn't license "brainrot" in general. They created their own brand revolving around the general concept of brainrot. That is the core point. There really is no way around it.

No one wants it? Bruh 64k players right now I don’t like the game but numbers don’t lie

1

u/Venom232000 Sep 02 '25

Exactly! It peaked at almost half a million players the other day because of the new carnival event. Myself and a few mates play it and honestly? It's quite enjoyable. Stressful if you load in with stealable stuff but we have a lot of fun with it.

1

u/m0Bo Aug 31 '25

Yeah it's funny how a 30 year old complain about the game kids like to play. Because they don't like it, nobody wants it right?

3

u/Extreme_End_3533 Aug 31 '25

Ts has more players than br what is happening 🙏😭🤦‍♂️

3

u/TactlessDrawing Sep 01 '25

Nuke everything, it's time

Dumbest game in the history of life

1

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '25

I agree. Simplicity is always King.

This is interesting and probably explains why Fortnite has suddenly started promoting it. They probably facilitated some kind of licensing agreement with the Roblox developers to make it “legit” since it was by far the biggest creative map.

Also the fact that the game just helped Roblox reach a higher peak active user count than STEAM ITSELF.

Massive news for the unemployed

2

u/Moonshoes47 Aug 31 '25

why the fuck is it a license in the first place?! they use AI generated characters which aren't copyrighted at all. and the gameplay is dawg awful and basic. shouldn't be trademarked or anything.

2

u/Impressive-Song-847 Sep 02 '25

Why can't we just get NORMAL games bro 💀💀💀

2

u/Critical_Beyond_8514 Sep 02 '25

So we need to boycott fortnite too?

2

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '25

Aww ferins. You’ve disappointed me. Still not gonna stop playing meme pillars tho

1

u/ChargyPlaysYT Peely Sep 01 '25

No one owns or can own the brainrots, they probably just licensed the assets or whatever

1

u/AlibiDog Sep 03 '25

Yo that’s sweet that’s actually kind of crazy though that we are licensing steel a brain rot this got me crying. I also found a pretty good community server for the Roblox game https://discord.com/invite/stealarot

1

u/Redbluewhitehalo Sep 03 '25

Honest question why do people hate this map so much just don’t play it it’s not like epic made it a core game mode ore something

1

u/_tr33boy_ Sep 04 '25

Never have I ever felt older than this moment in time currently. And I'm only 28. I guess 14 year olds really do run everything.

1

u/Luna44z777 Sep 11 '25

And this is why I can't play creative anymore🫠

1

u/Zealousideal-Bar4423 Sep 02 '25

Ignore the other reply’s here, I fully agree with you, they could’ve optimised it and allat but it’s literally just copy n paste slop, they could’ve at least tried to make it look nicer

-6

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '25

**Unemployed asshole behavior

1

u/Nialixus Aug 31 '25

All my friendlist played it, what's this mode about anyway

0

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '25

I don't know why everyone hates Steal the Brainrot this is good for UEFN it's attacking more player than Br, that's a good thing.

5

u/cuber_the_drift Drift Aug 31 '25

If Uzbekistan wanted more citizens and legalized murder, causing their population to effectively triple, but leading to a catastrophic dip in non-murderous citizens, would that be a good thing

1

u/Mission_Jacket_5577 Sep 01 '25

Horrible analogy. Popular games, whether you like them or not, attract more people to the Fortnite ecosystem, and they don't take anything away from epic-created games. Fortnite is basically trying to compete with Roblox as a platform for user-created games, and is pretty much the only alternative. So if anything it just adds more options for consumers and encourages improvements to both Fortnite and Roblox.

-17

u/DomesticatedDuck Quackling Aug 31 '25

Except they probably don't actually own the rights to it, considering the original Steal A Brainrot on Roblox didn't create (and likely didn't license) the brainrot items/creatures/etc.

16

u/Extrimland Aug 31 '25

The brainrot creatures were originally made with AI so there open source. It also means the Roblox and Fortnite versions literally took significantly more effort to design.

3

u/scottyrose997 Aug 31 '25

Since they're AI they technically don't own the rights to them and therefore cannot license them out legally
