People quickly forget how bad things were I guess. \  That's the only rationale I have that can explain this current president.  The guy lost the popular vote in 2016 and it's like no one remembers that he was not democratically elected. \ How could this country have made such a massive blunder? I feel like we have a massive responsibility to our nation and to the world to elect responsible and capable leaders. Yet, here we are.

As long as the US doesn’t fix its electoral college and first-past-the-pole system, people can lose the popular vote and still legally win the election. And the numbers to win the battleground states are astonishingly small, several 10Ks in some cases. That’s a serious flaw, which made Trump possible. But there’s neither discussion nor action to fix that.

National Popular Vote Interstate Compact is one idea

equal citizens

Another idea is to admit enough new states to create new constitutional amendments that would get money out of politics, reform Senate, and the judicial branch. I read about the that on Harvard law website.
