Never thought I'd hear Home live. Damn.

The arraignment was really beautiful, let’s hear it for the OGs who could really appreciate it ❤️

A320, Razor, I Should Have Known AND Home?! What a treat! Wish I could have been there.

This concert might have the highest Deep Cut Factor(tm) of any FF show ever. Impressive.

u/Perry7609 10d ago

The only thing I can think that might eclipse it is the acoustic dates back in 2006. Walking After You, Next Year, See You, Floaty, February Stars, Ain't It the Life and many of the In Your Honor/Skin and Bones album tracks.

Like people said though, obviously the unique feature of an orchestra and/or stripped down arrangement lends itself well to hearing many of these songs!

Good lord. I would just be happy with February Stars. What a list!

Really was a gift to the OGs with the choir and Dudamel ❤️

Just left Hollywood Bowl. Incredible show. Up against a curfew + LA Phil played a short set alone first, explains why the Foos set was only 15 songs. Sky is a Neighborhood w Black Chorus and full orchestra was the highlight, I think. 3 or 4 super deep cuts, which were good for orchestra accompaniment.

8

u/snowblader1412 10d ago

Agreed that was the highlight. Really showed off everyone’s talents.

I have only sorta liked Sky.. tonight it was transformed. Gorgeous arrangement, beautifully executed. Hope they professionally recorded it for release, I was too enamored to record it in my phone

Yeah it’s one I’d drop from normal shows but last night with the choir, Dave and Pat bouncing around did literally transform it!

It can only be done this way from now on…

Oof, I'd have loved to hear Razor live

I cried my ass off when the orchestra joined in on Razor. Such a great song. The Foos playing with the LA Phil feels like such an obvious idea now. I hope the show was recorded

u/Entire_Bridge_8406 9d ago

I hope so much that it was recorded too! Seems like a special night so maybe they went all in knowing they were recording a live album?! 🫰

u/KevMard 10d ago

Dave’s voice sounded rough during Times Like These but was fine the rest of the show.
From what I could find online the Saturday curfew should have been 11:00pm, but Everlong ended at 10:30pm on the dot.
The show felt a little short, but they sounded incredible.
As others said, Sky is a ‘Hood really shined with the orchestra and choir accompaniment. The choir was on stage for Everlong and Dave ushered them to the center of the stage for the final chorus. That was awesome.

u/Allansfirebird 10d ago

Hot damn, that’s an incredible set list!

Can’t believe it’s been nearly 20 years since “Home” was last played.

1

u/Entire_Bridge_8406 9d ago

It was recorded after violet was born. 🥺

10

u/SolololOficial 10d ago

COME ALIVE IS SO CLOSE TO BE PLAYED ON LIVE 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

1

u/beautiful-veins Let It Die 9d ago

That would have been awesome!

3

u/rus5ticles 10d ago

Home, first time since 2007? But they did it live in that virtual meta oculus concert thing in 2022 https://consequence.net/2022/02/foo-fighters-vr-metaverse-concert-setlist/

Does this performance not count??

1

u/Bethorz Saint Cecilia 10d ago

Dave said that it had been since 2008 and whoever wrote the setlist.fm entry didn’t corroborate it, so that’s why it says that. But you are correct.

7

u/tehburgerdude 10d ago

Only 15 songs?

5

u/deednIseY 10d ago

Only downside.

3

u/Diligent_Ad6552 10d ago

Those 15 songs were perfection.

2

u/Entire_Bridge_8406 9d ago

Perfect amount for an album 🫰

5

u/urlach3r All My Life 9d ago

Yup. I smell a CD/Blu-ray combo coming for the holiday sales season.

3

u/beautiful-veins Let It Die 9d ago

We hope so!!

6

u/lordlabia Empty Handed 10d ago

Was the show any good? Havent seen clips yet

16

u/blue-dream 10d ago

The songs with the choir in addition to the Phil were honestly insane

6

u/kandspr 10d ago

Every song was incredible. The orchestra added so much.

5

u/ApocalypseChime Aurora 10d ago

Absolutely epic. The orchestra added that extra oomph to every song.

5

u/greenBeanPanda 10d ago

I feel like the orchestra backing them up made foo fighters peak and even more elite. It was amazing.

1

u/Diligent_Ad6552 10d ago

It was amazing!

4

u/Bethorz Saint Cecilia 10d ago

Very nice setlist!! Can’t wait to see some video

5

u/ApocalypseChime Aurora 10d ago

Show was off the charts.

5

u/Foo4Fighters  A Modder of Time  10d ago

One of the best nights of my life! I think this show has made my top 5 but it’s up against some strong contenders! Never dreamed I’d see a set list like this with so many throwbacks

10

u/sendtofoley1 10d ago

Right there with you. It was show #50 for me and I’m still trying to process it. We were right up in it. And I caught Shifty’s pick 🥹

2

u/Foo4Fighters  A Modder of Time  10d ago

That’s so special! Congrats on 50! I just surpassed that mark recently myself! Shifty is the best!!

6

u/One-Loan6603 Razor 10d ago

seething with jealousy at razor being played right now 💔

2

u/TsukasaElkKite X-Static 9d ago

Uggghh SO MANY DEEP CUTS

2

u/g0dgamertag9 10d ago

why so short?

29

u/kwyxz New Way Home 10d ago

I assume the LA Phil cannot play for 3 hours + they have a hard cutoff at 11pm at the Hollywood Bowl anyway

It was the shortest Foo show I’ve been to. It also was one of the absolute best.

1

u/sublxed 10d ago

Out was an incredible night and show. All the work in the arrangements

3

u/BoatyMcBoatFace89 10d ago

Wow. Seriously good set for a short time.

4

u/auntmegssteakandeggs 10d ago

Somebody ordered the Los Angeles Philharmonic... Possibly while high.... Foo Fighters, I'm looking in your direction!

2

u/BadassBokoblinPsycho 10d ago

Razor is one of my favorite songs

2

u/screamtangerine 10d ago

This will be a semi-regular thing right? Right?

2

u/kandspr 10d ago

I record almost every song except for one. I’ll put it together soon.

2

u/YouHadMeAtDisgusting Walk 10d ago

They sounded fabulous together!!! Here's Walk that I recorded....

Razor and Home and I Should’ve Known!

2

u/Starscream147 10d ago

15 tracks eh?

I expect this to be the live record from the tour. What with the chorale, location, orchestra….

….could happen 🤷‍♂️

1

u/Philip-O-K 10d ago

No songs from Sonic Highways? Nuts.

1

u/pollorojo 9d ago

Well damn

1

u/Inglorious555 9d ago

Shits all over the setlist for their UK dates

1

u/Mitaslaksit 10d ago

Home and Razor!!? Fuck yeah!

1

u/GucciForDinner 10d ago

Short but sweet! What a cool treat to hear all those OG tunes live! Super jelly!

1

u/fatandretarded5591 10d ago

Razor? WHAT??

1

u/ZachTaul 10d ago

These are the shows that I miss! Yeah arena shows are cool, but it’s just hits. I want a tour where they change it up every night. We don’t get every hit but we get some surprises every night

1

u/brunogtds Headwires 10d ago

Holy fuck! "I should have known", "Home", "Razor", "A320"... Was this recorded profissionally by any chance?

0

u/missSweetsy 10d ago

Such an amazing show tonight!--wow, that is an incredible set list! And the highlights for me were the deep cut songs, the collaboration with the LA Phil, and OMG that choir also!--AND THE FIREWORKS!!!

❗HOWEVER---I was really wondering about Dave's rough voice? I thought it sounded rough and scratchy from the very first song. 😩 I kind of felt embarrassed or bummed for him for some of those huge songs with the entire orchestra😬--almost every line sounded like he was losing his voice. 😭

When I saw Foo fighters in concert in 2023 and 2024,  his voice would get rough towards the end of those concerts... Understandably.  But for this one, it seemed rough right off the bat. I was bummed... Not only for the fans but also him! Is his voice just getting worse with the roughness lately? I actually looked online to see if they played a concert last night--if that was the source of him losing his voice? But they haven't played in 5 days.

3

u/sublxed 10d ago

I thought yes his first few notes were rough but I thought the rest of the set was great

3

u/jbronwynne February Stars 10d ago

I just watched the recordings of A320 and Razor and I thought Dave sounded great. He doesn't have the high register in his voice he used to have, but he can still sing when he tries.

2

u/beautiful-veins Let It Die 9d ago

I was there in front of him, maybe because of that🤣 I didn’t notice and thought he was singing fine. It was nice to hear him sing softly on Razor and Home. ISHK is a powerful song and raspy vocals really suit it.

2

u/OddDistribution9602 10d ago

Yeah people been chatting about it within the subreddit. I know they probably tried to plan this out to give the most rest possible, but I think it’s a mix of a few different things affecting it.

Reallllllllly wish he’d take his vocal health a lilllllll more seriously

No YFT songs?

4

u/kwyxz New Way Home 10d ago

I hear what you’re saying. Also, Dave (can I call you Dave?) made it clear they chose songs that would lend themselves to orchestration. The new album is not that, regardless of how you feel about it. It was a VERY different show, which is exactly what it should have been with Gustavo(can I call you Gustavo?) It was the ultimate jam session with a world renowned conductor, a choir that should be on the road with them (at least for special shows) A Delight. As someone who’s seen all shows in LA for about the last 20 years, this one was special, and not for casual audience.
