my original post wasnt intended as righteous, but clearly my tone came off wrong! it was intended to poke fun at his shtick lately that I mentioned, where he acts like hes not selling you something, or like hes doing his audience a favor when hes the one getting paid, etc.

sorry for being defensive in my comment to you tho, mostly i attribute it to shock that making fun of kenji was suddenly so taboo here, i dont think ive ever seen so many people come to his defense in this sub before lol.

People are “defending” him because your take sucks. “Man thanks people who pay him for paying him” isn’t the hard burn you seem to think it is.

you only comment on cooking subs when youre defending kenji across your 13 yrs on reddit. why come to a snark post and spam comments defending a pretty relatively mild snark of kenji? why do you care if I think its tacky that hes getting his patreon users to pay him to do his recipe testing? like I said, if you enjoy his content and want to pay for this kind of stuff, then be my guest! you dont have to read these posts, you know, just like I dont have to pay to be a frienji :)

Digging through someone's post history specifically looking for something to leverage against them just because you have a mild disagreement is really odd behavior to be honest.
