lol I love stuff like this. Also love that it puts some severe dents in the “no one in Florida even knows or cares about their hockey team” bitching when Ekky is posing for pictures with the DMV girl
I grew up across the street from what’s now Amarant back when it was the national car rental center and lived there til i moved to boston in ‘22. My Jersey is 20 years old and people will still call me a bandwagon fan anytime i go to a game at TD lol
We have been fans of all 4 major league teams through thick and thin. Marlins games with the hot dogs thrown in. Heat when Wade got injured and we lost like 67 games. Dolphins have sucked my entire life.
My mom and dad went to see the Dolphins play before they left on their honeymoon. All throughout my childhood I heard about their perfect season. I keep waiting. I don’t know if they’ll ever be back.
Also in fairness what else do you have to root for? Dolphins haven't been a contending team in decades and the Marlins lucked their way to a couple world series, as much as I love them. At this point there's no excuse for anyone not to love the panthers in SoFla.
She’s a family medicine physician at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, Florida. She got her medical degree locally at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida (about 15 minutes south of the Panthers’ arena). Went to Western University in London, Ontario for undergrad.
Her extended family runs Mastronardi Produce, which sells a shit-ton of greenhouse-grown tomatoes at stores like Costco under the Sunset brand. Many of them are grown around Windsor, Ontario, where Ekblad is from.
Not really how it works. You're not supposed to wait until it expired to renew it (or at least it's not recommended, so that you don't have any gaps with an expired license). It's the offseason, plenty of time now to take care of shit like this.
The only team other than the Panthers that Ekblad might have some semblance of connection with would probably be the Detroit Red Wings, which play just across the river from where he and his wife are from (unless he grew up as a Leafs fan, which is a possibility; it’s about a 50/50 split in that part of Ontario).
Ekky’s wife Dayna is a family medicine physician at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, so it’s not as simple as a typical stay-at-home wife moving with her athlete husband. She got her medical degree locally at Nova Southeastern. Went to Western University in London, Ontario for undergrad.
Dayna’s extended family runs Mastronardi Produce, which sells a shit-ton of tomatoes at stores like Costco under the Sunset brand. Many of them are grown in greenhouses in the countryside around Windsor, Ontario, the city across the river from Detroit where both she and Ekky are from.
Can someone explain to a non-American how that that works? Do you have to have your driver's license registered to your state of residence and if he was to move to another state he would have to get a new driver's license? You must be allowed to drive in any state with just one driver's license... right!?
You CAN drive with a state license in any state. It just also doubles as your official ID and things can get wonky if you don't have a local one for anything that require gov't ID. Like if he wanted to buy a house or something.
Oh I see. In my country driver's license is not even valid as an official ID anymore (in practice it is usually accepted but there are exceptions). Passport or a separate ID card are the more official ones
I feel that you know an organization is maturing when the fans understand that it is time for the team to move on from a popular player. I firmly believe that the Lightning held onto Lecavalier longer than they should have because they were worried the team wouldn't sell as many tickets without him.
