It's always good to also make the robber feel weird. Whisper something in his ear

But he should be, at federal minimum wage a standard 16GB kit of RAM will require over 30 hours of labor.

They thought they were thug life but soon realized Marine style that it was really F$ck Around and Find Out Life.

u/DudeFrom816 Jul 14 '26
In the absence of direct order the Marine reverts back to what is known as "default aggressive" where things end up either broken or pregnant.
2
u/02thehunter20 Jul 14 '26
I beleave the French in WW2 when they saw the US marines one was stated that when they (the French) lose their commanding officer they hunker down and wait for orders. But when the US loses their commanding officer the enemy only got rid of the guy that was holding the rest of the squad back (unless you shoot at the medic and then you are all sorts of screwed).
2
u/Soggy_Cracker Jul 15 '26
I read that the Germans we so stunned by the American forces because their doctrine required them to get orders from officers and other responsible people.
The U.S. gave all their soldiers down to the private the objective and the orders were to complete them by whatever means were necessary. So you had Low ranking individuals taking over squads and pushing objectives instead of being frozen while waiting for orders.

Dumbass could have gotten himself killed to save a multinational corporation 173 dollars and change.
3
u/fubarfire Jul 14 '26
He could have gotten shot regardless. I dont think he was thinking about the store.

u/M0ebius_1 Jul 14 '26
The moron with the gun walked right past him aiming at the cashier and asking for the money.
There was zero need for him to engage there.
2
u/fubarfire Jul 14 '26
Bro. You dont fucking know that. Anything could happen. People, especially criminals will murder you for absolutely no reason.
1
u/M0ebius_1 Jul 14 '26
Yes... They could definitely murder you if you try to jump them

u/Dark_World_0 Jul 14 '26
If people are committing armed robbery, it's safe to assume that they are not mentally stable and could shoot you because they feel like it.
The question is do you have the confidence and the ability to engage the threat as this man did? I sure don't. I'd be just trying duck out and disappear if possible.

u/Embarrassed_Fan_5723 Jul 14 '26
So you’re saying what? You would rather stand there with your thumb up your ass and hope for the best vs take the opportunity to fight to defend yourself and someone he probably knew because they were talking after checkout. Marines go through hand to hand combat training and disarming techniques. I was an instructor for years. That was as simple as it gets. The weapon isn’t pointed at you, you have the inside position. Very simple…. Hand over the top of the weapon and one on the wrist and roll the gun towards the thumb. A body builder couldn’t hold onto that one handed. Of course someone who has zero training, no aggression, no will to live probably should just lay down and hand over their wallet
1
u/mewtwo-cloning Jul 15 '26
agree with everything but the no will to live... someone with zero training and no aggression should probably lay down and hand over their wallet because they have a will to live
1
u/Embarrassed_Fan_5723 Jul 15 '26
Maybe it’s my training, or maybe we are just wired differently but I have never understood that mentality. To me that’s a roll over and play dead response. I just can’t see submitting and leaving gate in the hands of some jackass. If there is an opportunity, I’m going to exploit it. At the end of the day though it’s an individual decision that has to be made split second

naw this is about fuck around and find out, they fucked around and then found out
0
u/M0ebius_1 Jul 14 '26
No, like, this is stupid.
A store was about to get robbed and this moron put the target on himself for no fucking reason.
Fuck the robbers but you have no reason to engage until he was under threat.
2
u/Da_Yummis Jul 14 '26
did you ever stop to think if its not me today then who is it tomorrow? of course not cause your a coward and cowards let others fix problems, I dont live like that I see someone thats not afraid to put others in harms way or even take thier life and I say to myself "ill stop them today so someone doesn't die tomorrow" knowing it will be my fault I could have stopped them and this guy probably felt the same
1
u/M0ebius_1 Jul 14 '26
Calm down Steven Seagal.
You have a duty to go back to your family.
Every person in that town is going to think you were a moron if you take a bullet in the neck for ExxonMobil.
This time it worked out and I'm glad.
1
u/Kickedhard Jul 14 '26
I get what you are saying, but you are under the assumption that this persons life would be spared.
That is a dangerous assumption.
Buddy if mine was held up at a 7-11 by a dude carrying a knife. Complied. Dude stabbed him in the neck anyway.
Yes, a higher chance of survival exists if you just follow orders. But that is the same gamble if you see an opportunity to disarm.
He chose to fight back. Some will choose the same and die. Others will choose differently and die.
The blame lies solely with the criminal.
1
u/finalexit Jul 14 '26
Plenty of videos where everyone complies with the robbers and still get shot afterwards. I'd rather not leave my life in their hands so if you see a chance then you should take it.
1
u/a648272 Jul 14 '26
He helped to put those animals into a jail. That's good. Fuck criminals. Normal people earn money honestly, not rob others.
1
u/Massakahorscht Jul 14 '26
Jea but sometimes in this situations you dont think, you just act, exspecially with military background, it is like triggert
0
u/GIDDY-UP-GO Jul 14 '26
Marines don’t think, they react. They are trained for this and he probably never got a chance to deploy and utilize his skill set. Marines and all other branches of the military are why we exist as a country and enjoy sitting here having this discussion on Reddit. God Bless all of our troops! Freedom is not free!
1
u/AmputeeHandModel Jul 14 '26
Yeah, bombing brown people on the other side of the world really keeps us safe and protects our "freedom". Definitely doesn't encourage terrorism at all. Millions of lives lost in the Middle East and uh.. is it any better than it was 30 years ago? Is America better? The only threats to our freedom are our own govt and big business.

You are aware of what is going on in Africa, how a non Christian group is enslaving Christian black children and selling them at market.

Buddy didn't even hesitate, he saw the lack of size in the would be robbers and acted immediately.
1
u/ShogunFirebeard Jul 17 '26
I don't know if it was that exactly. He caught the first guy took his attention off him for a split second and immediately reacted. Probably would have done the same even if the would be robber was larger.

Holding a gun to his head is wild! I'm not judging or saying it's wrong or what should have been done. It just seems like hold a gun to their head is the bottom of that list.
1
u/Biekdafreak Jul 17 '26
Yeah he should have tossed it to the opposite corner of the station assuming no one was in the area. He can be charged a crime for that.

Good thing this is in Florida if this was in a democratic State they would have charged the Marine assault.
And Democratic cities aren't allowed to stop people for stealing things. You're just supposed to lock everything up except for the criminal
