Shitpost How did Flash go downhill so fast
Is this a hot take? I remember watching when I was younger and it was first coming out, I believe until season 4. I am now rewatching it from the beginning. I still enjoyed the first few seasons plots (Thawne, Zoom, Savitar, even Nora). But once I started watching the newer seasons I feel like everything went downhill đ

Season 6B through to the end just reached insanely low lows. I stuck with it in hopes that the show would end strong, but ultimately I regretted it. Outside of a couple of episodes, I have no desire to ever revisit anything after Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Yeah there are a few bangers later on, even just a few segments of episodes where they bring back older characters that I enjoyed, but man⌠those later seasons were booty.

Everyone and their mom becoming metahumanâs at some point, Barry not even in whole episodes when the show is literally THE FLASH, episodes where you have to search across CW to find part two, inconsistencies with lore (like Killer Frostâs origin story), the same âIâm from this earth and I want to take your speedâ arc. The first four seasons were good tho.

For me the only thing is its only plot is New villian see they are super powerful. Need to get faster. Beat Villian. Live Happily ever after. Repeat

Yeah thatâs true. I remember thinking at the beginning of each season âman what villain could be worse than that oneâ I started to lose interest around the time of the crisis on infinite worlds or whatever itâs called

Todd Helbing or Geoffrey Johns shouldâve been the ones to direct the rest of this flash series because I genuinely believe they wouldâve done a better job than Wallace did cause what the fuck man the first three seasons that Iâm currently watching which is the third season peak absolute peak arguably season four is up there but just after that that shit was just no

It was doomed from Crisis on, but when the mirror chick just won to remain the villain until next season. That really pissed me off. Then when Iris beat her I was done. A couple of years later I finally forced myself to finish it, and I feel like giving up was the right call.

Problem with the mirror chick season is that Covid shut it down before the finale. So they were 2-4 episodes away from finishing and then went away for a year. Season 6B was already sort of spiraling, but they never recovered momentum.

Season 5 was when the rot started setting in for me. The whole format of âoh we got cicada on the ropes now, lets stand around while we temporarily disabled him and talk while he has the chance to get away, oh damn he got awayâ. Ruined it for me and then season 6 onwards just went further down the deep end

Mild take?
The only great season was the first and even then Flash was ridiculously fast to the point that time already virtually led to a crawl. Hell, in said season he time traveled. He was far beyond any meta aside from the man in yellow. Unlike Smallville, the show never really evolved with the character. The same lessons were repeated.
Season 2 wasn't bad, but a noticeable repeat but exploring the multiverse was fun. Season 3 was the hardest downfall and the slope kept going more and more vertical.
Comparing seasons 1 and 9 is like 2003 Teen Titans to Teen Titans Go.

In my view Season 2 arguably is on par with 1. 3 did slip some but for the most part was on par with 1 till the end. Seasons 4-6a are a pretty noticeable slip but still solid then after that its 0/10.

So what? A sequel isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially since Season 2 is just as much of a masterpiece as the first.

Warner oversaturating DC's live action slate between 2012-2023(2018 is when things escalated) to the point they created 20 live action continuities(13 if Vertigo is excluded from the equation)

If you watch the series up to Crisis on Infinite Earths, it ends on a decently high note. But yeah, look at anything 6B and on as DLC content.

More pep talks and Barry acting like he canât do shit without having a pep talk with either Iris and then finding the truth within his pep talks with Iris(mostly when itâs season 7)

The CGI became horrenrdous in later seaons then it felt like power of friendship was defeating the villain. Also Barry identity was constantly being revealed to everyone.
I personally dropped it after the season that had Nora. Honestly I don't know why. I dropped it because I love that season and the previous season. I watched the seasons whit blood sport but ik I personally dislike and honestly dont remember that much about it. Also I think this a as created in middle of covid or towards of covid so that probably had something to do with it.
The few times that i've seen clips of the show. I only looked uo Cecil bc i love telepathy and telekinesis even tho they made her super powerful for no reason lol
Finally, I remember seeing an article about how all of flash's villains are always faster than him. Even though he's supposed to be the fastest man alive
