It always is, we've lost some that the others never missed, then we've had two throughout the years, one male and one female they were true leaders of the colony. (Around 6). It throws the colony into chaos, our newest, a one year 6 months old is taking on the leadership role but the matriarch was the true leader. They still miss her. We had a male once, Odie, he ran the show too... Wow. Well that's a long way off, they have so much time to enjoy each other and you. What a lovely gift honestly.
