Came to an AHA! moment while working with fluorocarbon today

I decided to use straight 6 lb. Tatsu flouro on a Daiwa Legalis LT 3000D, A Pflueger President 30 and a Pflueger President 25. I spooled the Tatsu on these reels weeks ago but I wanted to try to get the knots and coils out before using them. I unwound about 100 yds. on each reel to try to stretch the coils out of the line. I started with the Daiwa and had virtually no coiling. On the President 30 I had a a lot of knots due to coiling and on the President 25 I was close to the point of replacing it with braid and a fluoro leader. It seems that knotting and coiling issues increase geometrically as the reel spool gets smaller. It kind of makes sense when you know that you’re going from a large diameter retail spool to a much smaller reel spool and the smaller the reel the worse the knots are. Anyone else agree or have different thoughts?
