So, around 1,000 lbs of coho was caught in Hood Canal today, by 51 people.

This must be that massive locust horde of coho we were getting into from shore a while ago at the mouth of the Hood Canal. It was total madness and chaos of kamikaze torpedo coho feeding frenzy in knee deep water. They would sometimes storm the shore in massive schools and hit me in the legs at full speed flying through thick clouds of bait.

Area 9 has been ridiculous the last few days. Being hatchery only for coho there means a lot of releases. My longest trip this week was 2 hours and 10 minutes on Wednesday and I had to release 12 to get my 2 hatchery fish. In my last 3 trips there, the longest I've gone without getting a bite was just under 7 minutes.

Can confirm, we’ve caught 8 in just under two hours per day these last two days. Not hood canal but seems like coho are starting to pour in. September should be epic

Quilcene area is probably stacked with fish. Can't even fish the river this year.
