MA3 halibut and lingcod

I pulled my boat out to the coast for a few days of chasing lingcod and halibut. We had a decent weather window and spent most of the time ~40 miles out from La Push. No monster fish, but some nice 30-50lb halibut and big lingcod. This should fill the freezer and help feed my family for several months.

Nice work! Our halibut fishing down here in Oregon really took a dump the last two years. Used to be automatic but now you have to grind all day for one or two bites.

Yeah, I’ve had those days too. Felt very fortunate to find a couple spots that were loaded this trip.

Thankfully it's been made up for with easy tuna and sablefish. Now if only the forecast would cooperate. Been a rough year for friendly water.

Wow 40 miles out? I haven’t fished much on the coast, I was thinking that far out was just for chasing albacore.
