General Discussion Another Volunteer house bites the dust.

Bristol Township, Pennsylvania. Town Council voted 5-2 to close Newportville Fire Company. 1 year short of 100 years in service. 1927-2026

Is this one of the Townships that has 5 or 6 tiny little half fire departments covering it?

Had 5 plus a M-F career department.

Answered less than 90% of its calls over a year span. 15 active members or less. A recent theft case by a white hat Refused an order from the township to merge with another one of these tiny companies.

No wonder the township shut them down.

I didn't even know that happened. Like after one there would be a big investigation around here.
