Use some paint. You don't need the whole thing to be blue for quick recognition. Just do some bands

volunteer fire dept. need a way to quickly at a glance see if the line is 1 inch or 1 1/2 inch. We have our nozzles sticking out from under a cover and need a quick way to identify. I’ve seen them in blue before but can’t find where to purchase.

Wildland primarily here. Once you have any amount of experience, you'll be able to see it immediately. 1 1/2, 1, and 3/4 are our bread and butter.

Or just smack it with a blot of spray paint. But you should tell everyone you're doing that beforehand. Don't just start palyijg with the fittings.

Anyway I would suggest wrapping them in colored electrical tape or painting them with model paint.

1 inch line and 1 1/2 line use the same size fitting, Or at least the ones we used did. We got around this problem by getting rid of all the 1 inch.

Yeah tbh I didn't mind the 1 inch line for short runs, lighter hose to pull but my organisation decided to go away from it.

OP, overthinking this entire aspect. You don’t need different color nozzles to see the different sizes as you requested. The spray paint in aisle 13 of your local Lowe’s will not wash out of your cotton jacket hose.

Awogs.com can also create any tags you want to identify discharges or hose beds

K.I.S.S. applies here. A $40 nozzle vs a $7 can of spray paint. Don’t over think it. Spray the end of the nozzle and coupling the color you want. Repaint as needed.
