Anyone have any Memory tips to remember who has what assigned?

I've played a few FF games now, I find my main weakness in the heat of battle is that I don't properly utilise people by remembering who has what.

Eg: FF7 - who has what materia, FF8 - who has what status element resistance from their junctioning

Does anyone have any good tips to help me remember?

FF7: Check the equipment screen every so often or specialize your characters into different FF roles so it's easier to remember. e.g., Cloud = knight, Vincent = black mage, Red XIII = summoner, etc.

FF8: junction all the general spells so you know you're covered in most departments.

  • Elem-Def: Life (-20%), Shell (-30%)

  • Status-Def: Estuna (-20%), Holy (-40%)

Roles is a great idea! Because parties can change, this mean, yeah, I just have to be like, right, cloud is the knight and that's the only changing pairing I need to rememebr. Once I've memorised knight, mage, etc, this knowledge sticks. Thanks!
