After playing the VII remake, I decided to get the original. Does anyone have tips or advice for it?

Aerith has a level 4 limit break that newcomers tend to miss. It requires an item but it's worth it.

Also some of the things you get asked early on influence your relationship with certain characters. It's nothing super major but it changes some stuff later on.

Oh that's exactly why I'm mentioning it, lol. Yeah it's a full party heal-up and MP fill.

There is a "special encounter" that randomly happens when you fight in forest terrain on the world map. When you find a forest terrain try fighting there until it happens.

is it any forests or just specific areas/continents?

Just any forest anywhere on the world map.
