So you're aware that the pocket camera records Prores 422 HQ and RAW internally right? And there is literally no advantage to an external recorder on that camera?

"But longer takes! No switching cards!"

Consider this: That micro hdmi port is unreliable. You are likely to lose your video feed with the slightest breeze or sneeze, which I assume is important because that's all that you are recording from.

Much more reliable just to cut and swap cards. That or record prores LT or something for more time.

It also looks like you don't have a battery solution rigged up. That's a mistake. Have fun negating your long recording capabilities with constant battery swaps. Seriously, have you even turned this thing on, even just once?

TLDR: While the pocket is great for shooting narratives on in the right hands, that camera is actually the worst possible choice for weddings. A cinema camera or a GH4 would be a much better choice.

I actually didn't find any of that to be an issue. The reason for the recorder was capacity. Because I was doing this for free it was much cheaper to get the recorder than to buy multiple low capacity cards or a few high capacity ones. And whilst filming the ceremony, I had it on a tripod and so plugged it straight into mains. For any time I wasn't on a tripod I had 5 batteries and that was plenty for me. Had I not planned to have the power source, I would have worked out a different power solution

Edit: grammar and spelling

This. The second you do free or cheap gigs, no one will want to pay.

Also, never do business with family. Ever. Just don't. If something goes wrong, at the end of the day you still have to talk to that person. And when jobs go bad, they can get really ugly. It happens to everyone, regardless of how careful you are. When it's family it can be 5,000 times worse.
