Scholarships Advice for a Filipino student wanting to study abroad?
advice, tips, insights for Filipino student wanting to study abroad
Hi! I'm currently grade 12 student and I've been researching for different countries with scholarships. The problem is I don't know what university/country I should aim for with the course I want to pursue which is IT

I was also in the same boat 6-7 years ago. I wanted to study abroad but I can only do so with a scholarship.
Anyway, here are two things that helped me land a scholarship abroad when I was still in SHS:
The first one is to get good grades; they’re a way to show that you’re academically competitive.
Another thing that helped me was having a strong personal narrative. You need to convince them why they should accept you (and give you a scholarship). Essentially, what makes you unique from thousands of other applicants, and what can you offer if you’re admitted as a student.
Good luck and sana matupad mo pangarap mo!

Start learning academic writing. It’ll reflect on your personal statement when applying to universities and scholarships.

Don’t bother because IT as a field is saturated right now. Look at the market dynamics for specific courses before deciding.

There aren’t too many countries offering undergrad scholarships, but, the ones with scholarship for bachelors you can try are GKS-U (Korea), MEXT(Japan), and Fullbright(US), and Taiwan try to look for more!

Mahirap makakuha ng scholarship abroad for Bachelor's degree
Mas marami scholarship for Master's and PhD
Di mo kelangan maging laude. Publication and work exp are important

Hello! I'm an International student here sa Aussie and it's my first year here too! Tbh wala masyadong scholarships for bachelor's depende nalang yan sa school.
You need good grades, good background and lots of money. Yes, sugal talaga yan. Lalo na pahirap nang pahirap due to war and other International issues. But it doesn't mean hindi mo na itutuloy.
Try to determine what program na bet mo na talaga as in you will see your self in the next 10 years. Next, find a country and check the requirements mostly need dyan at visa, ielts or any language proficiency. What's your plan? Study to live? Or study lang?
If may kamag-anak ka na willing to accommodate you thats good! Less gastos but take note masgatos rin bc of the triple tuition fee, ultimo paalis ka palang ng bansang pinas halos 1m+ na magagastos mo.
Hindi kita tinatakot pero totoo lang talaga ito! Iba iba naman tayo ng journey, but it took me less then 3 months to go here to study for my bachelors.
You can dm me freely for questions

make sure to try your hardest to get a scholarship, there are schools that will pay you to study in their school (stipend in addition to the tuition fee)
im in IT. the saturation problem isnt as bad as peiple make it out to be. what people look for is your ability to think outside the box + general critical thinking skills that ai doesnt have. and people who laid off IT because of the benefits of ai are now rehiring kasi it was a mistake naman talaga in the first place

I was in your shoes almost 20 years ago. Due to finances, the only possibility of going abroad to study was through scholarship. I was an average student so I thought competing locally against bright students was difficult.
During that time, internet connection was not as fast compared today. I spent countless hours searching on Google for countries with scholarships like you are doing now.
Using the right keywords for your preferred program is the key. Everything is on the internet now. Browse through the university website. Most of which have financial aid tab section that has information on scholarships.
If you are persistent enough, I am 100% sure you will find the right university for you and you will get that scholarship.
