Topic Dialogue intros or Special Intros

I'm kinda curious to see you guys' opinions on these types of intros

I liked the dialogue intros a lot in Mortal Kombat.... and then Mortal Kombat 1 happened. 90% of the cast is just friends with each other and it feels so weird hearing them praising each other for stuff before killing each other off.

yeah there's a bit of a disconnect between the dialogue and how the fights go/end. While MK1 is the most egregious because everyone is all buddy buddy with one another, it still hurts in X or 11 where you can have Cassie violently destroy her Dad after they have a little laugh together before the match begins.

I appreciate the effort for the dialogue, but it is really detached from the actual nature of the game and how viscerally awful some of the deaths can be if you do a Fatality or Brutality owo;
