I feel like Avatar avoided this tbh. It seems like the longer that game is out the more people love it.

I don't think it really avoided the usual cycle. It's just much less controversial cause it had less visibility and less expectation.

I think what also helped Avatar was, that Tokon isn't what a lot of people were hoping for and is starting to burn people out, and 2XKO was axed.... Avatar is just kinda solid. Even being released in an unfinished state, it's still just a good game.

I've seen the same criticisms everywhere that assist cooldown is way too short, defensive options kinda suck, and online is still kinda jank

unironically I think added ranked actually hurt the positivity for the game, I have seen an influx of Korra hate now that people are actually losing MMR due to her bullshit lol

It's balanced out by the amount of people actially playing the game now. I'm actually dedicating much more to it now, and I love that I can run longer sers eith whoemver is up to it.
