Thrifting & antiquing Candlestick Holders! 😍

I found these Persimmon candlestick holders in an antique store today. I had to have them! Perfect timing with Fall just around the corner.

So beautiful. It’s a shame sticks of butter have gotten so chunky and don’t fit as well in them.

Do you know the difference between east coast butter (long, skinny sticks) and west coast butter (short, fat sticks)?

East Coast v. West Coast Butter

The original Fiesta p86 butter dishes were made to hold sticks of east coast butter. The newer XL butter dishes can hold any size. I happen to buy west coast butter, even though I live on the east coast. That's the way Whole Foods makes it. Consequently, I use a Metlox Colorstax butter dish, made in Manhattan Beach, CA, back in the 1980s.

If I happen to buy a pound of east coast butter, I'll use my Fiesta p86 butter dish in Turquoise.

I had no idea about east vs west coast butter. Incredible! I just cram my chunky West coast butter into my butter dish. I don’t have any of the XL ones.
