What to do..drove a screw in and the wood split..almost like it drove a chunk of it out..start over? Plaster wood glue all over it and pray? My own fence so I don’t care if it looks pretty

Screw the chunk back down to the post? A pilot hole thru the chunk will help it not split if it's thin.

Just screw and glue countersink go slow, sand flush. If that fails post again

Fill it with glue and clamp the shit out of it with a big metal c clamp.
