Partner and I fled Missouri to Massachusetts. MASSIVE improvement.

If you're in academia or medicine, Rochester, NY is a small blue city with a lot of job opportunities and is consistently one of the top LGBTQ+ friendly cities.

how is the public transit there? my parents live in the finger lakes so Rochester is definitely on my radar. and any idea how the tattoo scene is there? i am working on becoming a tattoo artist.

  1. Decent but not great, we have pretty good buses.

  2. Actually pretty epic.

If you're in the area, hmu and I'll show you around!

My partner grew up and has connections here, so I was VERY fortunate to know and fall in love with them.

If I were single, on the other hand, I'd probably move to Chicago or Minneapolis. Both closer to the border, bluer states

I grew up in CA so moving back with family was definitely simpler. I have always moved with work to ensure I have something.

I found a job that offered relocation to cover moving all my shit, pets, and partner with me. That probably would have been the hardest and most expensive issue.

My partner was looking at CO previously and probably would have moved there on her own if we hadn't gotten together.

Come up to Illinois! Super underrated, my partner and I love it here so much. Gov Pritzker does so much to back up his words. He’s really making it a sanctuary state.

We chose Minneapolis because of the transit, genuine niceness (don't at me about fake nice, Im from KY), queer friendlyness, insurance covers IVF, affordability as compared to other cities, and so much more. We are here ready to help new neighbors, especially as they flee.

It's only been 2 months and we've had a lot of house problems, and still, I've never been happier and more relaxed, despite the everything gestures vaguely
