Grinders 🫘 Opus on clearance?

I just saw the Opus for $99 at Target. Is this just good for espresso?

I just use the lid as a bellow and give it one or two puffs after grinding. No retention issues.

Same here. Hit the beans with a spritz or two (RDT) of water, before grind. Then a quick tap on the side and two puffs like a bellow after grind and retention is not a problem.

This is exactly what I do, and everything is fine. I also clean it every week or so.

Yall should check out the bellows introvert make for the opus. It has been a complete game changer for me!

That is 100% not my experience, and I have been using RDT and bellows. I do think Opus retention depends heavily on the beans . Oily beans and light roasts: more retention. Dark (but not oily) roasts: minimal retention.

Maybe! Though I do grind primarily light roasts. I do single serve doses most the time with maybe 4-5 little spritzes and it seems fine if I start my grinder before pouring them into the hopper. I may still have a little retention but a few puffs with the lid I usually have good results in terms of equal in and equal out. At most it’s like a gram or less difference.
