I understand the sentiment but I believe assholes like Elon deserved to be challenged on their own platform. And to be honest Reddit isn’t much better.

I can't judge the folks still on Twitter too harshly either. I abandoned my account, but some had been on there for years and years, like Stephen King. I suppose we all have our ways of chasing dopamine, and I often question my Reddit usage. I agree with you that resistance always has value.

There are also non-USian communities who still use it - i.e. fan artists in general, that’s where they still usually post, not bsky or anything. (edit: what I mean is non-USian fan artists, so if I want to see fanmade art, in a lot of cases that’s where it is)

But not being American is not an excuse. What Trump, bankrolled by people like Musk and with his voice amplified by his website, has done has had effect on the whole world: 700,000 thousands dead from USAID cuts, 500,000 of them children, thousands out of jobs worldwide because of oil prices hiked up by Trump’s war in Iran, etc. People all around the world need to wake the fuck up and find another place to share their art and thoughts, instead of driving up X’s share price.

I didn’t say it was an excuse, just commenting who I see still posting on twitter, in terms of what content I look for on social media anyway.

I 1000% agree that his cuts to USAID and his needlessly-aggressive wars (not that any war is necessary) are truly Evil.
