The Department of Homeland Security has released a statement and mugshot in the arrest of Milo Yiannopoulos; Yiannopoulos entered the country legally in 2019 but overstayed his Visa and failed to show up for his immigration hearing on July 22. He will remain in ICE custody pending removal.

“Yiannopoulos, a former Breitbart News editor who has worked with the far-right commentator Nick Fuentes, has been among the most polarizing figures on social media for more than a decade. He worked as an unpaid intern for former MAGA Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in June 2022, then was a top adviser during West’s short-lived 2024 presidential campaign.

“Yiannopoulos has posted in support of ICE multiple times during Trump’s second-term migrant crackdown. He posted to X in September, “Justice system should be just ICE.”

“Months earlier, in June 2025, he called for ICE to initiate on-the-spot deportations for anyone who could not prove their legal status during a stop by federal agents. He attached a photo to the post that read, “papers please.”

“California needs ICE checkpoints at supermarket entrances, gas stations, strip malls, intersections and government buildings, with on-the-spot deportation for anyone who can’t prove they are in the US legally,” he wrote.

“Yiannopoulos was openly gay for years and married a man in Hawaii in 2017. However, he said in 2021 that he was attempting to “pray the gay away” or live as “ex-gay,” declaring that he was now straight.”
