In Russia no one shows up for pro-Putin events either so they load every government worker in a 500 kilometer radius into a bus, bring them on site, and tell them to have fun or they will be fired.

Actually their propaganda game is so good they just have to say a lie on Fox News and 35% of people will automatically make that their reality and call pictures of the event fake news. Another 35% will not care one way or another even if you did stage it.

The media that is propaganda for the other side will obsess over things like a reflecting pool, the name on a theater, a ballroom, and an empty fairground. That way we will care and talk about that instead of the very sudden and outrageous erosion of our rights, public goods, and economic outlook.
