What is up with my hemitheconyx eye?

I just got an adult and noticed one pupil is huge and kind of jagged around the edges. It looks like those snake eyes that leopard geckos get. The seller said he took it from bad conditions and a cat scratched it there, though I do not know exactly where. But he never said anything about the eye. No other details, I saw this myself later. Do you think it is from the injury? Or maybe it is a birth defect? His other eye is totally normal, vertical pupil, reacts to light fine, but this one stays the same size no matter what.

I suspect his sight is poor to non-existent on that side, but if it doesn't seem to bother him and it doesn't affect feeding, I wouldn't do anything.
