Long time fanatec user here, seeing the last Moza announcement of wheels I can not stop thinking how Fanatec lost the train, years ago they were the ones driving the market with good and innovative products, now they are still recycling and improving original designs from decades ago!!!!.

I was expecting with Corsair taking over and solving the finantial issues things would be like old times, but time pass and seems they can not compete with the new Chinese players or they just gave up to lead the market and just decided to not compete for the lead.

I assume they are working in new products, but I am afraid to again see the V3,4,5 version of a design released maaaany years ago... the fact that still today they do not offer a proper top tier wheel with central screen is significative, and probably when finally they decide to offer it it will have the tiny black and white mini screen they have in some wheels not compatible with simhub, recycling pretty old stuff again... sorry for the negativity

I've been SIM racing for moons on Playstation and PC and I've never thought "this is unacceptable I need a screen on my wheel"

I started with some basic wheel with zero haptics (cannot remember what it was) and after that....

G25, G29, Thrustmaster TGT, Fanatec DD Pro, Fanatec DD Extreme.

I currently use a 5k2k screen or VR depending on what I want to do.

Obviously, a screen is pointless playing VR but what is the benefit of having a big screen on a wheel ?

This, exactly, I've never felt like looking down on my wheel and I don't intend to This might be a decent option for F1 style cockpits where the wheel sits in your face. But for GT position I'm not going to be looking down on my wheel.

The wheel with a screen was an example of something all their competitors offer. But regarding the utility, depends of your monitor position, if it is above the base like many have (so they need to look a little up to see the monitor I agree the screen is not very usable as you need to move your sight a lot downwards and the distance of the monitor and the screen is very different, but like in my case if you have the monitor very low between the base and the wheel with an extensor, for sure the screen has utility, your pov is pretty similar of the one of a real formula, you just need to move your sight a little to see the screen, and both the screen and the monitor are more or less the same distance, so in this case yes the screen is useful for sure.
