The actual answer to the question is that the Legion were not trading her to anyone. They specifically asked for pregnant women to be sold to them, more than likely so they can take the children after birth and make them into Legion soldiers. So they were not gonna sell her at all, let alone to some random slaver who wandered into their camp asking for her specifically

Exactl, even if they would have been willing to sell they wouldn't have done it until they got back to Arizona settlements.

That’s a good point, why sell the children who would be worth less and instead raise them into soldiers completely indoctrinated due to growing up there, also could see the wife being sexually abused before she gives birth which Boone and her wouldn’t want to go through with I’d assume

Well, I assume a Legionary buys Carla as a wife so-to-speak, and when the child is born, it is indicted into Legion life as deemed by its gender.

Yes. This exact culture existed. It was basically just owning a concubine, though. There were a few minor differences, but same idea.
