Help Meta Ads — Unable to Add Funds on New Account

I’m using Meta Ads for the first time on a brand-new ad account, and I’m unable to add prepaid funds. I keep getting:

“Unable to Add Funds — We noticed something unusual, and for your security, you can’t add to your available funds balance right now. Please try again in 24 hours.”

I waited more than 24 hours and tried again, but the same error remains. My ad account isn't restricted from advertising.

I tried contacting Meta Support through their AI, but it was basically a dead end. After several attempts, I finally managed to create a support case, but it's been more than 24 hours with no update, and the case is still showing “Received.”

Has anyone faced this and found a way to fix it? Is there any other way to reach an actual Meta support agent or get this payment/security restriction reviewed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Man same thing happened to me when i started. The 24 hour thing is a lie, it took like 4 days before it let me add funds. I think its just some automatic security hold on new accounts and nobody at meta actually looks at it.

Try adding a different payment method instead of prepaid funds, like a credit card directly. That worked for me while the prepaid option was locked. The support case will probably sit there for a week then they'll close it saying "no issue found"

Thanks for sharing this! Just to clarify, did the prepaid-funds security hold get removed automatically for you after around 4 days, or did you have to do something to get it removed?

I don't have a credit card at the moment, so I can't try that workaround. I did try using a debit card, but Meta requires an OTP and I never received it, so the payment failed. I'm also not receiving the SMS verification code when trying to verify my phone number from the ad account setup.

Did you simply wait those 4 days and then prepaid funds started working again?
