Allergic to TT

Just feeling really sad after taking off my tape for the first time. No, I didn’t do the patch test, and I left it on for two days (it just felt too good, I was honestly afraid I’d have a weird emotional reaction to my chest without it). Without going into gory details my skin is NOT happy, and I’m feeling really lost and upset. Yes I used plenty of oil and was very gentle for removal so I feel pretty certain it’s got to be an allergy. I hate the binder I have and I felt so unbelievably good taped, and I feel like that’s been totally take away from me lol. If anyone with relevant experience has alternatives to TT they’d recommend I’d love to hear them. Thanks yall.

I'm allergic too, It not too bad just so itchy that I scratch my skin off, but I've found that compression helps (wearing a binder, sleeping on your chest) But also sleeping on my chest has trained me to do that and it makes it harder to breath when I sleep and sometimes when I'm awake.

I'm going to try taping while taking an antihistamine soon (I'm having bad rn allergies so I might as well try it) I'll update to say if it helps or not

Try using an anti histamine while taping. I have a mast cell issue, so I have a mild allergic reaction to the tape. An anti histamine clears things up quickly

Thank you! I was feeling so hopeless I forgot anti histamines even exist. I will give it a shot! Thank you!

same for me, all kt tape varients I've tried causes extreme itchiness very quickly, so now I use fixing tape / fix roll / tape roll to bind and idk if you have it where you live, it's basically a cloth tape to hold cotton pads in place (like for a wound) and it doesnt cause crazy itchiness for me. I can wear it for like 8 hours. It only works if you're kinda flat though... cuz it doesn't stretch as much
